Great staff, great draft specials and the food was pretty good too. It felt kinda British and I felt kinda at home there. Is great for late chit-chat and meeting the locals.

no attention. they forgot a food order completely for out table of 4,

we were the last to sit, around 9PM weekday night

then they delivered an overcooked hockey puck hamburger, with no apologies whatsoever

Not bad. The food items are carefully crafted and quite delicious. I had the Baked Spaetzle with Gruyere... it was without a doubt the best mac-n-cheese I've ever had. The other foods looked good.

We had a few different beers that were good. The staff wasn't overly friendly, nor all that helpful in making recommendations for my friends.

The ambiance was a tried and true setting, but nothing to really write home about.

Overall, I would go again, but wouldn't necessarily make a destination of it.

Killer Beer Great art. Been to this place every other month since it opened. Good food, better cocktails each time I go. Everything is killer but the waiters. Where the hell did my buxom dream Amber Lee go?

Cool, but no thanks. The surroundings are awesome -- the people are not. The beer selection is fantastic for the adventurous non-generic beer drinker, wine selections is great, the drinks are par (at best), and the crowd is Y-Generation. It's too bad that the wait staff and bartenders are just plain snobbish. Ugh.

Favorite bar in Portland. First off I sense this as a spot that is going to get very popular. The cocktails are excellant and the food is really great. I had the spaetzle and I will be back again and again. It is only 5 bucks during happyhour. The beers are always changing and the menu too. Go Go GO! Oh and see the bargirl Amberlee on Wednesday night she's charming and fun.

Erik is the MAN!. Further than I thought I'd go to eat, but damn happy I went! "WOW" after every bite. SUPer impressive pate, duck prosciutto (hello??!! miracle worker, or what?). Prices not enough for the fresh unique food. Great wine list and PLEnty of good spirits. One complaint would be the lack of good service. Had to order drinks from the bar twice since we seemed to be an afterthought to the waitress, and running on empty isn't fun when you're out for dinner. Other than that, GO GO GO!

Super cozy wine bar with great food, wine and atmosphere!. The Victory is a great addition to the Division-Clinton neighborhood! It is a friendly place with a warm and cozy atmosphere, excellent food and a nice selection of yummy wines. If you are expecting an all you can eat buffet with TGIF spirit button service, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a low key place with healthy (good for you healthy, not pig out huge) portions of deliciously prepared foods this is the perfect place to go. The mussels are amazing! The spaetzle, out of this world! and i overheard a regular raving about the short ribs, but you have to get them soon cause they are off the menu as of this Thursday. What is nice about the Victory is that although the menu is not huge, everything is good! The days of all you can eat bread is over, so paying a buck fifty for yummy local bread is no big deal if you prefer quality over quantity. I loved the alcohol selection - locally made vodkas and gins - and their own lavender infused vodka - yum! The wine list is equally intriguing and affordable with a nice mix of local, spanish, french and italian wines. What is nice about the list is that Amalie has done alot of the heavy lifting for you by selecting a nice variety of the best wines -so instead of spending all of your time flipping through an endless list of wines, you can focus on drinking and enjoying the wine. It is nice to see a good beer list too - short and simple - with my favorite Belgiums on hand. Expect this place to get even better with time as little changes are always being made and some of the kinks are worked out (the kitchen is a bit cluttered and the bathrooms are not super comfy (candles and some artwork would be nice). I like things simple and slow. I like to linger. I prefer good food to too much food, i like kicked back, knowledgeable service and i don't like to feel intimidated by the wine list. For all of these reasons and more, i will be going back to the Victory again and again and again.

Tepid Everything. I went to Victory expecting a delicious and intimate experience. Instead what I found was an over priced cafe that should be serving breakfast, not dinner. The food was alright, but not filling, and expensive. Bread, for instance, does not come with the meal! You have to buy it, and at 1.50 it seems a trifle to not give it away, but that is the problem with this place specifically; it gives you nothing but a fat bill. The wine list is alright, but the selection is extremely limited. There are so many wine bars in Portland with much better selections of wine, I was nearly surprised that this bar advertised itself as a "wine bar". It is like sitting in a cafeteria, so there is hardly no intimate experience here. Also the service is rude, or at best hardly polite. Probably the best part of the place is the Chef. I hope that he continues his successful career, sadly I don't see it happening at Victory.
