yummy food.. I don't know why people are complaining about the food. When I went I had a delicious hand made pasta whith truffles and and a great sauce! the ambiance was nice too:)
Absolutely AMAZING food/drinks. I LOVE everything about this restaurant! The food is incredible, and since they introduced their new under $20 small plates menu, I can try a variety of dishes without breaking the bank! I have been eating here for over a year and have NEVER been disappointed. Valet, private dining, and cute bartenders, what more could you ask for?
Overpriced, Faux-complex and just phony!. I ordered the mushroom and pepper fettuccine and it was so bland, I asked for salt and pepper. No Fresh Ground pepper....so I spooned, more and more pepper over the fettuccini....but no to avail....it just wasn't good! Glue-blobs---I think it was overdone! The service was non-attentive or intrusive---and nothing in between. I will not go back....$55 later, I had a stomach ache, empty wallet and was totally unsatisfied!
One of the best restaurants I've been in Portland! Expect to spend some extra money than usual for a dinner in this city but it surely worth it!

And it's also a very romantic atmosphere; I surely want to go there again to make sure of all my great first impressions but this first time was totally flawless.

Are you kidding me? I would not recomend. There are plenty of far better places in Portland.. The food is alright, but so overpriced, and the service was very slow. Was it ok? Sure, but there are far better places to go in Portland. In fact many just down the street...
Food was all great, and so was the service. We tried three different entrees and three starters, and cou;dn't decide who was the winner. Staff advice on wine pairings was right on. Not cheap, but worth it. Will definitely go back. It did take awhile to get our drinks.
Wow, what pretentiousoverpriced bland food.. Are you serious? Between the lousy wait time, and the overpriced food, I will not be coming back. The foie gras tasted like something that came out of a can. I'll be going to Beast next time, thank you very much. Oh, and the cost? Get real.
Randon menu of everything.... The menu has a little bit of everything. The food is okay, but no real unique flavors in anything. I thinks its average taste for it's price range. Nothing exceptional about the place. I wouldn't really recommend it if you're looking for something to really knock your socks off. But I would recommend it for a casual happy hour place.
Customer Service Non-existent. I thought someone may be interested in my experience with Ten-01 since Ten-01 was not. In Februrary, I reserved two spots for a wine-tasting/small plate event for April 12th. I spoke with someone at length about the event, and even gave a credit card number to reserve the spot. On the 8th, I called to confirm the cost, and was told it had been moved to the 5th a month ago. Rather than attempt to determine who I was, where my reservations was, or what had happened, the sommelier (Erica Landon) said only (and repeatedly) that she had personally called everyone on the reservation list. I'm not sure if she was implying that I was lying about my reservation, or if she is simply not skilled at customer relations, but it was offensive. I worked in restuarants for many years, and am now in the professional world. It's one thing to make a mistake, it's another to be entirely un-apologetic. We will not return.
Outstanding food on a short weekend visit.
My wife and I were in Portland for a short weekend break, and I had the task of finding a couple of good places to eat. I am a big time foodie, and very in to restaurants that source locally. At the top of the list was Le Pigeon, which I am rather glad I didn't actually get in to - the manner of the host that answered the phone was rediculuous - "what, you want a reservation for Saturday? that is only 5 days away, you have to call earlier than that to get in here" kinda deal.
So, with much more looking around I stumbled across Ten-01, and also Lucy's Table. I was at first a little dubious about Ten-01, just from pictures it looked like it could be a touch pretenious, and I am certainly not into that. I am glad to say that it wasn't at all. The place was relaxed, and the staff were incredible. The Sommelier was great, and recommended a great wine that wasn't too expensive. Our waiter was also extremely knowledagable, and knew the menu like the back of his hand - including cooking details, which is great to see.
I had a black cod dish, with foie gras, which was perfectly cooked - and could quite easily been just as good without the gras - the black cod added enough richness. My wife had a scallop dish, with a fantastic chorizio/brussel sprout mix. Again, completely stellar. The only complaint was that there was grit in the scallops - normally a sackable offense, but in this instance it really didn't matter, it was only a couple of tiny grits, and the rest of the dish was so good, it didn't let the side down.
To finish was the lightest bread pudding I have ever tasted.
This place put it all together perfectly. Great food, perfect service, and a decent vibe. Highly recommended.
