What Our Expert Scouts Say

Blitz Bar
October 11, 2012

Blitz Bar, with its two levels, has two distinct personalities. The upstairs is a bright sports bar, more in-laws-appropriate, downstairs is more college-kid foosball fun. You pick.

Tips for Blitz Bar

Don't work with them around parties, sponsorships or special occasions. Depending on who you talk to you will get the complete runaround. Especially if the owner gets involved at all. His staff will later tell you "that's now how we do things and you'll need to work with me instead of Mark( the owner". They are hot and cold about returning calls or acting like they want your business

Yummy Breakfast. I don't care for sports but I love a good deal and love a good breakfast even more. We like to go here for a Sunday brunch. The Bloody Mary bar is an awesome concept. Everyone knows that the garnishes are the best part and Blitz provides everthing you could possilby want. The breakfast is always awesome and very affordable. The staff are friendly without being intrusive and its right on the Street Car line making it easy to get to. I only wish they also had the two dollar Mimosas that Jakes does. We usually end up making two stops :)

Blitz, a bad place like a bad beer. Met some friends for the Beavers/Boise State game and have to say after reading the reviews that I was less than impressed. The service was very impersonal and when I ordered my food and it took 40 minutes. When I asked for my tab at the end of the evening it took over 20 minutes which might have been alright if I didn't have my husband at home being the babysitter with a night of football. The positive reviews of this place are obviously paid for, there are much better places in this fine city to go for a good time while watching football or any other sport event of choice.

Breakfast Perfection. All I can say is go early and stay late.

Breakfast - French Toast made in heaven.

Noisy, yep.

But it's worth every bite.

Can you say Air Hockey?. I love watching games here. The food has gotten so much better, really. This is where I get my coffee when I do not go to Barista, it is that good. There is Air hockey! Staff is great but do not expect to get your butt kissed. The only reason I say the Bathroom is a con is because of the d. bags that can not seem to pee in the toilet. Seriously, I saw some guy get kicked out for trying to pee in the sink, some people. Anyway, not the bars fault. I love Blitz!

Best sports bar in Portland. Located in the Pearl district, the Blitz provided the perfect spot to gather a group of Cardinals fans from around Portland every Sunday. The staff was great and very accommodating for our group. They had no problem with us re-arranging the furniture each week to optimize big screen viewing for everyone. The combination of numerous high definition TVs, shuffleboard, pool, and darts makes Blitz the best sports bar in town. What better way to spend half time than with an intense shuffleboard match?

The food and drink at the Blitz is definitely better than your average sports bar, too. The Bloody Marys are a superb addition to Sunday football and they have a good selection of brews on tap. As an avid hot wing connoisseur, I was thoroughly impressed by the size and flavor of their wings. The rest of the food is great too and they have a killer happy hour menu! Bottom line, the Blitz is the jam!

Great for football!. started going here with a group of friends to watch Cardinals game and has become our football hangout. Really good breakfast burrito and bloody marys. Breakfast is cheap too.

fantastic french toast!. The baristas are pros and the coffee is exceptional. As a transplant from NYC, I recognized the Gimme! Coffee sign and had to go in. I loved the cappuccino and then decided to have the french toast. It was great. Highly recommended
