Best tacos in town!. If you want a 'chips and salsa' type ameri-mex, sit-down restaurant, this is not it! If you want authentic mexican food (great tacos!), accompanied by great salsa verde and roja, this -is- it! Since the food is authentic and it's not a chain, they do suffer from inconsistancy from time to time (the sauce can be off). Also, when it's not the man-wife team running the place, the other guys will blast the music. This doesn't bother my wife and I as we know what we're getting into when we go, and enjoy the food quite a bit regardless (more los bukis please!). Remember, this is taqueria style food. If you don't know what that is, educate yourself or go to azteca.

Love Them!. We have been going here pretty much since they opened and they are soooo good! The husband and wife team are so hard working, always remember us when we come in, and have always made us fabulous food. There are occasions when they aren't working that the service is a little sub-par but still not horrible. To the reviewer who complained about the taste of the food, I am truly surprised. I am a total mexican food junkie and I think I have tried it all from fancy, to fresh to hole in the wall authentic and I think that they provide the most authentic mexican meal for an AMAZING price. I can feed my family of four, well, for under $20. You can barely do that at McDonalds anymore! No, they don't offer fancy salsa dishes, nor do they give you chips and salsa on your table, and no they don't take your order at your table, but who cares?? They don't claim to be a high end restaurant, you can tell that when you walk in the place. I say give them another try, give the tomatillo salsa that they have on ice at the pick up counter a try, it is fantastic! And, last time I checked, a plain bean and cheese burrito is usually pretty bland.

Not impressed at all. My husband and I have been searching for a new favorite mexican restaurant. I went off the other reviews and thought I would give this place a shot. This place is like a fast food restaurant without the fast. Everything is minimal in a bad way. The don't give you chips and salsa, so I ordered two because I was with my family. They hardly give you any chips and the salsa is served in a paper dish, plus the salsa has little flavor. I had the wet buritto with spicy chicken. They don't put any beans in their burritos which I found strange and had to go back and request some. My kids had bean and cheese burritoes, that were flavorless. My husband had the burrito platter which he thought was very average. I found most of their sauces to be bland for being mexican, not alot of chile taste. The best sauce is in the ketchup bottle. It was spicy and good. Service wasn't good, alot of tables were dirty and hadn't been cleaned. Communication was difficult, because no one speaks English well. The parking is difficult too, because there is only a couple spaces.

Awesome authentic Mexican food, great prices. The burrito at La Sirenta is absolutely fantastic. The burrito plate was so complete I had two generous meals out of it. The owner was very freindly and checked with me several times to make sure my experience wasa good one. If you haven't gone, don't miss out on one of the best secrets in town.

Best kept Mexican nitche in Sellwood. Wow, no reviews yet? I can't say I'm surprised, I live only a couple of blocks from the place and it took me 2 years to notice it!! Very small, hole in the wall feel (much like the Cha Cha's downtown) but this is about food, not decor. Once you get to the food, the 1990's 'fast food chain-isque' seating really fades into the background. They say everything is fresh and homemade, and it sure tastes like it. Their hot sauces are AMAZING and everything we've had from the burritos to the tacos and tamales (the tamales here are not my favorite, but OK none the less) are exceptional. For how amazingly cheap the food is for that fresh homemade taste, PLEASE pass on the Mexican fastfood chains to check this place out! If you're opposed to the simple and unrefined decor, they offer a call ahead/to go service as well :) Honestly, for the price and quality, there's no way you can go wrong by eating here tonight. Oh, and the guys that work here are great - conversive and funny - great service and food!
