Avoid getting a color .... I have tried this salon twice: The haircuts are boring & very typical to what you'd likely get at Supercuts. No Pizazz, no creativity. DO NOT GET A COLOR from the owner. You will spend more time on fixing it & looking at it in the mirror. Roots are always a different color than the rest- After I inquired about her expertise- I realized she had very little color experience.

Hair is like art - each person and each service is unique. As hard as we try, no stylist can get it right 100% of the time for 100% of the people. There is not a single one of us that hasn?t had a cut from a stylist on an off day, even when we?ve seen them for years. While 99% of my clients leave satisfied, I cannot guarantee that I will perfectly cut every single hair on every one of the 1,500 cuts that I do in a year. Once in a while, something might be a little off.

But what I can get right every time is making sure that every person who comes to Odango! leaves satisfied. Sure, I hope they leave smiling and checking themselves out in their review mirror, but in those few instances that a client is not happy, I do what it takes to make it right. But I can?t fix what I don?t know about. No one has contacted me recently to say they were unhappy with their color. I would encourage this client to call me personally. I am sure I can find some way to make it right.

The "You're Leaving Looking Like a Rock Star Hair Salon". I went to Odango on Woodstock, because I don't like to take chances with my hair and it was highly recommended by friends. I had been having a crummy day and they made an appointment for me on very short notice, which was super accomodating. When I arrived they were welcoming, complementary, witty, and fun. Their prices are very reasonable and they are extremely skilled and professional. I highly recommend you try Odango, I know I'll be going back again soon.

Ann is fabulous!. I have very thick, curly hair, and lots of it! I went in a few months ago for my first hair cut in years and I was very happy with it. Before doing anything, Ann looked at my hair and explained what cut would look best and why. I was very happy with it, and went back to her today for a trim, highlights and all over color! I love my hair! I am so excited about my new do!

They give you what you SAY you WANT!. The ladies here really listen: What you say you want, you GET! My hair needed a serious update and Ann set me up with a cut from Heather. She was listening intently as I described the layers and "lightness" I wanted in my blunt and heavy, thick hair. I came out of the cut with exactly what I'd described: light, layered, feminine, and pretty! Oh, and also: low maintenance! Thank you, Heather and Ann. You guys are the best...I'll be back!

Heather was Great!. My hair has always been straight and one length and it usually gets thrown up in a ponytail until Heather at Odango layered it for me. I didn't know what I wanted I just knew I needed a change. She kept it long enough, so if I want I can still put it in the bun, but now it has texture and looks so good! Best haircut I've ever had.

Best Salon. This place is amazing! Not only is it easy to find and has a great atmosphere, but the prices are reasonable and the staff is great. I got a cut and color from Liz, whose talents are as great as her personality! She was so nice and helpful and really listened to what I wanted to do with my hair, and took her time to get it just right. I'm thrilled that I found this place and am already referring my friends and family there. Stop going to that stuffy overpriced salon and start going to this great local buisiness-- you won't be disappointed!

The best...haircut, atmosphere, people, and prices!. Can I just start out by saying...I LOVE ODANGO! Not only do you get a great haircut and color for a reasonible price, you also have variety of proven and professional hair products, as well as an atmosphere that will keep you coming back! Before coming to Odango, I used countless hairstylist and NEVER came back to the same one twice...I just didn't feel that they invested the time and care into my hair that it needed. I mean, they only see it once, I have to look at it every day! But this changed when I got my hair cut by Heather...she is fabulous! I have since gone back more than 4 times, and LOVE HER! Not only does she know my hair and work hard to make it look it's best, but also we have had a lot of fun experimenting with a vairety of colors and I have never left there dissapointed!

I would highly recommend going...I even travel all the way from Beaverton because I know that Heather will do a great job EVERY TIME and to me it's worth every penny! What more can you ask for in a hair salon??

The Corner Salon Has It All!. Wow, I'm impressed - and I honestly didn't expect to be. I have recently moved to the SE area and have driven by Odango thinking that is was cute but as picky as I am was a bit skeptical about the neighborhood salon. When making the appointment I spoke to the owner - Ann - who was super sweet and very accomodating. I explained that I am pregnant and felt very "mom looking" and wanted to be turned into a "hot mamma." I requested a "razor cut" which to most is foreign. I was placed with Liz for the service. A razor cut can go horribly wrong in untrained hands. Luckily Liz's aren't. The outcome - it's the best haircut I have ever received, (from any of the bigger more name recognizable salons), and the most reasonably priced. What an amazing combo! The salon is super cute and has a very relaxed, fun atmosphere. I felt no pressure and both girls that stayed late into the evening (thanks for staying Heather and Liz) were very nice. The decor is cute, the people are nice and Liz's cut was top of the line - all things I didn't expect from the salon on the corner. Good for you Ann! Good for Portland small shop reputation. You have a lifelong customer. I'll be back for highlights soon!

Phenomenal Cut! Outstanding Service!. Plain and simple, every time I go in for a cut, I come out feeling great about my hair. I love the personal touch, too. Some days I just want to sleep in the chair, and I can do that. Other days we get creative with my hair and there's a great balance; they do what I ask for, but when I'm open to suggestion we can talk about what works best - and they always come through. Lastly, I love the fact that I don't have to remember what it was we did last time. There's a book with my picture in it that is updated each time with notes about my cut, including details like what clipper length was used on my beard. Truly, the best service I've ever had!

Revised Review. Since our first haircut (Aug. 07) at Odango - we've been pretty happy. I've always used Ann (the owner) and my daughter likes Shannon. I called to get an appt with Ann but she wasn't available for the time I need so I went with Shannon for a cut & color. My hair color was fabulous! My hair cut - not so much. I brought in pictures & showed Shannon the length I wanted (which was very short). Before leaving I told Shannon I didn't think it was short enough. She said go home, wash it out, style like I normally would & let her know. So I did exactly that. By the end of the day I called Shannon back & said it needed to be alot shorter. She said she couldn't fit me in for 3 days - what! I waited the 3 days, took the exact same short haired pictures back in with me. She proceeded to cut it. When she was done she asked "how's this?" It was still no where near the pictures so I'm thinking, what part of very short is she not getting? So I grabbed a couple magazines pointed out (again) how short it needed to be. She cut it more. I said cut it short enough where I won't have "wings" in a week or two. Well, in less then two weeks I ended up at Great Clips for them to trim up the "wings". I haven't been back to Shannon since & don't intend to return. My daughter on the other hand seems to have a lifetime stylist.
