From The Owner of Concordia Ale House

Great Food, Great Beer, Great Atmosphere, and Great Service!

What Our Expert Scouts Say

Because the north end of Killingsworth needs an ale house too, this chill spot fits the bill. The blind flights by style are fun and educational and you drink beer in the process.

Fun place to go and have a bite and a drink.

Good Addition to Killingsworth. We went here a few months back and it was a good pick. This is a nice, low-key spot. Food is good, beer is good, prices are good, what more could you ask for? It's great for kids too. We went here on a Sun afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Definitely recommend it.

concordia lame house. $7.00 for a pint of beer, unattentive service, and poor quality frozen food. The corporate atmosphere doesn't exactly help either. Skip this place.

Great Service--Try the Greek Burger. My wife and I enjoyed very friendly and attentive service on our first visit to Concordia Ale House. It was a busy Saturday as they were hosting a tri-state Beer competition called Beer Brawl III. However the waitstaff was very much on top of things. We felt right at home.

The Greek Burger is a must have. I am so glad my wife shared. I am getting that next time.

Food and service are horrible, great beer do not make enough of a reason to come back. We have eaten here for years, back when it was the original owners, and much better food. Since the new ownership has taken over the food has been ok or miss but recently it has been miss after miss, getting to the point of un-edible. The beer has always been good, but we go to a place for the beer, food and the friendly service. So only good beer isn't enough. There are 2 bright spots there, Ann and Amie, and as long as they wait on us things are better if only cause they treat you good and replace gross food as it happens. Our last 3 visits the food has been so bad and the server didn't seem to care a bit and twice we have become sick from the food. After this last year I added up the we spent on avg, $55/week every week there. So they will not be seeing any more of our hard earned cash in their hands, nor any of our friends.

good burgers. I remember when this used to be The Etcetera, and I put off coming in here out of respect for one of my favorite bars, but I finally stopped in for some food. I had the Greek burger, and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. The meat had a nice subtle seasoning to it, and was cooked just right. The service was pretty good too, but there wasn't a whole lot of people in their either. It has a weird English pub kind of vibe, which some people probably like, so whatevs.

best beer, best service, best breakfast on the weekends!!. My family and friends have been going here for a while.

The service staff is awesome.... they let you taste beer, the pool games are free... the food is quality!

what else can you ask for?

Excellent experience. I had the opportunity to visit the Concordia Ale House during a visit to Portland for a wedding last year. I was quite impressed with both the selection of beer, which was outstanding, and the level of service that we got. Granted, we were there in the afternoon when there was not many people in the place, but the staff was extremely friendly and, surprisingly, quite knowledgeable about the beer that they were serving... they were able to make intelligent suggestions about local beers (as a visitor from afar) that I should single out for sampling. We only had "snacks" while we were there, but they were very good... and hot. Too bad it is a whole continent away... we could use something like that out this way. A bit hard to find, but well worth the trip.

Great food..the unexpected at a pub. I had been to CAW a few times and had been trying to get my boyfriend to go. Well last night we walked over to Concordia and got a treat. On their specials menu they had a Chicken breast stuffed w/chorizo and covered in a lovely chilpote sauce! WOW was all my man could say which is impressive because he is a foodie and a great cook himself. He got, off the same specials menu, chile verde enchilladas which were almost as great as the chicken dish. And to top it off is the great selection of beer. If you can't find a beer you like at Concordia then you may not like beer...LOL! The only down side is the acoustics. They really need to invest in a sound dampening system for their ceiling. Any way if you are in the neighborhood then do yourself a favor and stop in to Concordia Ale Works. Go for the specials!

Citysearch is frustrating (how many times must I post this before it appears), but.... so is Concordia. Here's a tip: train the staff. Not everyone is automatically ready to handle a 20 table section. Also, it's important to tell them to make eye contact and approach tables, as opposed to pulling the old, "I can't see you and you can't see me, so I'll drop off your food/beer and keep walking" routine. Man, that's annoying. Maybe you guys overdid it, and maybe you're having money trouble, but you can only cut labor so much before you alienate your customer base. The occasional suburban interloper, or corporate business lunch monkey, may stumble in unawares, but those of us who live nearby are your bread and butter, and we're getting a bit restless. Stop shortchanging us. We like your beer selection too, you know.
