One of the best sushi in town!. This is the one of the best sushi restaurant in town! Prices are reasonable.

The problem is service. Waiters and waitresses have no idea how to work in a restaurant. We waited 10 minutes for our water and tea. Waiter forgot that I asked for a fork (never brought it to me; I had to get up, and get it from a bar myself). We waited for sushi for 50 minutes! When people that sat down after us already got their food, we waited and waited for our order.

Food is great, but they need to change some of the service staff.

I usually go there ones a month now.

Real Japanese Restaurant. This is by far one of the better Japanese restaurants in town. After reading many of the other reviews on some of the other Japanese restaurants people are to easily fooled by the word "japanese restaurant". They rate them high not knowing the difference of bad and then good. Hakatamon has better food than most of the others in town. The noodles are made fresh daily. The sashimi is very fresh and has a good flavor with good consistency. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. You can go to places like Sushi Hana or Sushi Boat and pay less to eat but the quality is far inferior to Hakatamon. After having been to Japan several times and been to many Sushi houses. This is about as close as you get to Japan in Portland.
