A bike-centric, beer-authentic, family friendly brewery that will charm you. Black bean burger, pint of pretzels and kids meals that my kids love! Very funky bathrooms for both the women and the men.

The staff is great and they have good pretzels (the cheese dipping sauce is awesome) and lots of beer options!

What's more Portland than organic artisan microbrews and unpretentious sustainable meals in a lovingly restored, eco-friendly building?
THE most incredible happy hour in the SE at the moment. It is becoming difficult to want to branch out and find others. The wait staff is very pleasant.
Awesome! First bar we walked to after moving to SE Portland. So incredibly lucky to have in the neighborhood.
Not the place to go for pizza.
Been there many times but will have to find some place else to go for pizza. Cheesy, greasy, over-priced pizza is not why I go out. Lots of other places in town serve better stuff at lower cost.
Plate was dirty too but that could happen to anyone.
Service is always excellent.
If they only made good pizza...
My previous review of Hopworks has changed over the past 9 months. It's still is a good place to grab a beer, but not the best to try and catch Happy Hour in Portland. The prices have increased a bit and the service and the staff has dwindled. Basically they're too busy, understaffed, and there is not enough room for most to even get a seat. Wait times have gone up, food quality has been hit or miss, and we've had to wait numerous times over 15 minutes to just be seen, and another 30 to 45 minutes for the food. Christian either needs to hire more staff, or expand the bar side, otherwise he'll be losing a lot of patrons. We'll go back because we still love their food and beer.
Good Beer, Good food, Good times. This place is great, great food, the pizza is great, good beer selection, and good atmosphere, I have been there 5 times in the last year, nice and central location to gather with friends.
Bad Service. I wish I could say I love this place. My husband loves the beer, the food is fine. Our son loves playing with the train table in the kids area (when they actually open the top area instead of cramming everyone into the bottom level). BUT- the servers are SO rude. They act like they are annoyed to be seating and serving you, and can't understand why people would be annoyed that they have to wait for an hour to be seated. I seriously know every time I call they will be rude to me right off the bat. I tried to book a party here and it was like I should be so lucky to get a reservation- they had all kinds of rules and when I had to call to cancel the party because my son had a fever and it was his birthday, the woman on the phone basically told me off- huffing "So you're not coming?" three times after I told her then heavy sigh, "Ok..well.. I guess I'll have to tell my manager! Thanks! Bye!" just dripping distain. Hey- if you hate your job as a server or hostess, go to school and get a real job. Don't take it out on the people who come to your restaurant! I will not be back any time soon. It's a shame because we really were hoping this place would not be the typical bad service Portland establishment like the rest of them.
Love HUB.
It's fun, great beer and food and we love to meet up with friends and spend some time.
They serve a v.v.v. good burger and we've always experienced great service. I think if you want a more intimate, conversation-friendly venue, you may not like it here. If you want to be in a great, innovative space, enjoy some excellent brews and really good pub food, you'll love HUB.
Too Many Kids. The food is ok. The beer is great. The kids are out of control. When will Portland parents learn how to control their running, screaming, intrusive kids? Go to McDonald's or Chuck E. Cheese.
Best Organic Beers Ever. This place is a true gem for the beer lover. Their organic beers are all artisan masterpieces. I would recommend their beer brewed with real espresso as a winter warmer along with a piping hot piece of pizza. In addition, this is a great family-friendly place with excellent service when we there, granted that was a weekday night. I will definitely be back!
Wow! It was a pretty bad experience!.
We've been here before and it has been okay. However, tonight I've decided that we will never go back again.
We waited for almost an hour to be seated and the service was so bad. My 7 year old was the last to get his food (to be fair they brought out the wrong food for him the first time and had to go back and make what we really ordered!). We were all done by the time my kid got his food.
Speaking of the food, how much salt do you really need to cook with? Everything was soooooo salty. There was nothing special about the pizza or calzone sauce.
Really bad! Really bad!
