Seriously Dissapointed. I had previously given this place a 5 star review but sadly things have changed. I recently had cocktails and appetizers here with a friend and the waitress handed us a printout bill for $31. When we told her we wanted to split it she ran both of our cards for $19. When we asked her about the discrepancy she was rude and stated that they never use printout bills. She brought us a hand written bill for $38 that she had apparently just scribbled out claiming it was the original bill even though there was barely a word on it and we were both certain of the original amount. Unkind and unprofessional, this neighborhood joint has lost my business.  View Less View More

Poor Customer Service. i do not recommend going to this business (the press club). my husband and i went to the press club to enjoy a free concert (one of the band members was actually a relative of my husband), anyways we were thrown out because we did not order food. the advertisement was that it was a free concert and it did not include a message saying that a food or drink purchase was required! they were very rude to us and did not at all try to accommodate us. this place is very small and we took up no tables we just sat in a corner close to the band. there was no more room for anyone, eating or not to come in to this restaurant. they said that "only people buying food could come because that is how we pay the band." what joke!!!  View Less View More

Great food in a relaxing environment. I met a friend here for lunch. The place is very comfortable with high ceilings, inviting seats and a wall of interesting magazines that guests are invited to share. I had a perfectly prepared soy latte while I was waiting for my food. At lunch they specialize in sandwiches and crepes. All the items are named after historic literary figures.

I ordered a crepe with spinach, mozzarella and caramelized onions. The crepe was incredible served topped with creme fraiche. I also had an excellent house salad for $2 extra.

I can't believe this place only has two reviews. I highly recommend it and hope I get back to the neighborhood to enjoy this cozy little Portland space.  View Less

Exceptional for a hipster joint!. I had the Truman Capote crepe: Brie, pears, crushed walnuts and some kind of heavy cream. Let me tell you, this was absolutely divine- the best crepe I've had, ever. Service was above average for a place like this; meaning: for a hipster joint where the waitress is also the bartender, there is no attitude, and she actually works her butt off. Great selection of mags to read, too. I'm going back.  View Less View More

Amazing food, atmosphere, and service. I LOVE IT!. I found this place two weeks ago and am embarassed to say how many times I've been back! You can spend an entire day there, espresso in the morning, crepe or panini and wifi at lunch, and wine after work. The service is great and if your alone there are a ton of good mags. Love it!  View Less View More
