Very poor tasting food..
Went into Split on Saturday 11/26. The menu prices were very reasonable, but the food quality was terrible.
The crab cakes were awful. I would describe them as fried breaded mush. I also had the wedge salad. The dressing tasted like the cheapest bottle of blue cheese dressing you could get at Winco. The bacon bits were perhaps the artificial bits you get from a shaker bottle.
My friend had the crab salad which was also awful, little bits of thawed out crab that were mangled and discolored, nothing resembling crab in any way.
Split management, if you want to stay in business raise your prices 10% and raise your food quality 100%, then you might have a chance.
not the friendliest... Over priced, bad customer service, and food is nothing special. Good wine selection...for such a small place. I won't be going there again.
Don't go in...Keep walking!.
I agree with all of the reviews. The food was horrible. We ordered fish tacos and a plate of hummus. The hummus had a horrible flavor. The fish tacos were most likely reheated skippers fish entrees.
The service was really bad. The manager made at least 10 trips around the bar in a 20 minute period. Very weird. Again the tacky blinking "Open" sign should have been our first clue. It's too bad, it's a great location. Hopefully this helps Sin Ju next door get more service.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!. Split used to be a really cool place to go with great food. Now it has extremely poor service and HORIBLE FOOD! The Wait & Bar Staff looked like a bunch of hoodlums right out of the county jail. The menu was extremely hard to read (horrible font) and uneventful! This is the nicest outdoor shopping facility in Oregon and the food aweful. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
out of touch. There claim to fame is some famous Chef wrote there menu but what they neglected to tell you is that he doesnt cook it and as far as I can tell the people who do cook it are at best unskilled minimum wage flunkies and thats being generous! This is is kind of a cool little spot nice ambieance decent bar staff but they would be well advised to hire at least sombody who can cook . The message they give out is well a great Chef wrote the menu but were to cheap to hire him. This is a nice place for a drink after the movies but there kitchen needs to be revamped
DO NOT go. I think this place has changed owners. We went when it was first open and the service was slow and the food was just ok. However, it was far greater than it is now. It has turned into a obnoxiously loud twenty something bar. You feel like you just walked into a pool bar with loud trashy music. I like all kinds of music, don't get me wrong but not at a wine bar. They took 20 minutes just to be acknowledged, another 10 minutes to take our order (which was the busser that didn't know what a "CAB" was...at a wine bar!!! After waiting another 10 minutes our wine was still not at the table, couldn't see because it was so dark, couldn't hear and started to question the cleanliness of the food if it was ran so poorly. We got up and left....definitely not recommended.
