Ok dive bar. This place is ok. The bar done stairs is fun and a good place for a group of people to meet up.

Not the Life of Riley. So I've been to the Life of Riley before. Food's alright, a little overpriced, they do have a good selection of beer on tap and their basement is chill, pool tables, tv's with the game, sportsbar crap. The service is alright.

My Friend and I went there to play pool Sunday night. The basement is dead, maybe four or five customers. I order a beer, my friend asks for a bourbon ginger. He pours my beer and then goes to check my friend's ID. Then he says he can't accept it because it's not laminated. My friend says, yea it is, and the guy snaps back, are you going to argue about this? Friend asks, should I leave then? and the guy says, Yea! Then charges me for my beer. Fukc him.

First of all, yes it was laminated. It's not like their bar is well lit and the bartender hardly glanced at it. Secondly, it was dead in there. He even said in the exchange he'd like to serve us, but he couldn't. BS. He could serve us; it wouldn't have mattered, he wouldn't have gotten crap for it, oh, and, we're both 22. Thirdly, when I clearly am not going to be drinking the beer I ordered, don't fukcing charge me for it. It costs probably what?, fifty cents to pour, that's not a big loss not to be a douchebag.

I haven't had particularly noteworthy experience at the Life of Riley until now, and it was crappy. The bartender who served on April 18th, 8:45 in the basement, was a douchebag. I hope this hurts him and the business, it's not that much of a stretch to be polite. And this comes from someone who's worked in the food industry for years.

Relaxed place... needs better waitstaff. I went to Life of Riley to watch the Blazers game and celebrate my birthday last week.

Overall, it was a good time. The atmosphere is generally relaxed and fun. The one problem was that it was almost impossible to get a drink and/or food.

We aren't very demanding and we never complained openly to them about it, but I figure if the manager ever reads this site, he or she might want to reconsider who you have working there on a busy Saturday night. It was ridiculous how many times we had to ask for the same drink before we got it. We ended up leaving because the service was so disorganized and slow. It's a great bar, but tainted by inattentive servers who were far more concerned with flirting with the guys in there, then serving a large group of people that were wanting to spend a lot of money on food and alcohol.

Great creative appetizers, nice big screen for sports games. I ate here twice in late December. Service was very slow both times, although it's possible not all of the servers could make it through the snow. This is one of few places downtown that remained open, and kudos for that! The menu had some unusual food choices in addition to the normal bar fare. I tried a seasonal appetizer of squash with mustard which was delicious and I was only disappointed they ran out so quickly and I could not get more (no delivery trucks either). Lots of choices of tea. Good crispy house-made chips and tender juicy burgers. Watched a Blazers game on the big screen (called ahead to make sure they were showing it). The second time I went it was super crowded and there aren't any good places to wait for seating. The upstairs was nice and clean, not smoky at all, and has a pool table.

Horrible! Miss Leading, dirty and smoky. I've been to Life of Riley many times for lunch. It is okay, not great, but the service reached an all time low last week , and I will NEVER go back. (Too bad because there are 12 of us that go to lunch there when we do go.) Why NEVER? Well, 6 of us went in to see the Presidential debates and we were told they WOULD SHOW them downstairs.......... THEY REFUSED after we bought our drinks and sat in the dark, dirty downstairs, smoking bar........ It went something like this.....

"Yes, we will show the debates downstairs.".... However, after the 6 of us bought our drinks, and succumbed to the dark, dingy, smoky atmosphere; the debates started and we were THEN told that they would not in fact show the debates because the bar was "too" busy. ...What? ...Oh, the six of us and what 4 other people? "The owner decided not to show them because of potential arguments.... Well, "owner" I would say that was a very bad choice. .... We made it to BLITZ bar and it was AWESOME, packed with really good service.

Poor service.. It took over 45 minutes to get a drink and almost an hour to get my appetizer. Are they understaffed?

Downtown downstairs Mecca. Great selection of diversions: darts, pool, jukebox, shuffleboard. Very accomodating seating and a great waitstaff. I was a little dissapointed in how hard it was to get on the shuffleboard table. There's only one and everybody wants to get a turn. Kind of like the local doorknob. I'd suggest that if you want to get in you hang a dollar on the lamp and then camp out until the current game is over. Good luck if you don't. Still an amusing and drink peddaling time. Try not to bring drama because the crowd has a tendancy to boo couples in a snit. Go Life of Riley!!!
