45.388177 -122.611245A hidden gem on McLaughlin Blvd.. Milwaukie/Gladstone's best kept secret. A little hidden from the road but TOTALLY worth the search. Retro booths with nice atmosphere. Greeted with a huge smile and seated immediately. Picture menu of the specialties helped greatly. Medium yellow curry was wonderful, not too spicy, not too veggie laden. Mango chicken special was perfect and refreshing. Food was plentiful and amazingly flavorful. Looking forward to repeat visits and trying more appetizers and dishes.
Worth the search, Gladstone/Milwaukie.
Since finding Frog Thai, my husband and I eat there every week. We are addicted to the Pad Thai and fresh salad rolls. The sauces are as light as can be, allowing the taste of every ingredient to come through. And for those who love their food saucier, Frog Thai is happy to oblige. All you have to do is ask.
All food is made with as little oil as possible. No animal fats are used for cooking, nor is meat tenderizer used. The food is always fresh.
A new vegan menu is available, and vegetables are cooked to tender-crisp perfection.
The friendly staff has helped us with special dietary requests, further limiting oils and sodium, so we never feel guilty about eating at Frog Thai.
There has always been seating available, which is nice, but I'd really like to see this place get the business and recognition it deserves. I want them to be around for a very, very long time!
A hidden gem.
I didn't know about this cute charming restaurant till 3 years after living in that area. It is behind a tavern and the sign of the restaurant is almost completely blocked by a tree.
The food is made with fresh ingredients. The restaurant looks clean. The waitress is always friendly. Best of all, it's very inexpensive (lunch special $5.50). I wish I would have discovered this restaurant sooner.
Fabulous Thai Restaurant in Portland Oregon.
This restaurant serves the tastiest, freshest and yummiest Thai food... which is VERY authentic.
I frequently dine at this Thai restaurant whenever I'm in Portland, Oregon U.S... friends tease me that I would go all the way from Singapore to the U.S. just to dine in this fabulous restaurant !
The yummalicious Thai food served there is addictive & simply divine!!!
My personal favorites are Fresh Salad Rolls with Peanut Sauce; Basil Chicken, Pad Thai, Green Curry Chicken & their Sticky Rice with Fresh Mango for dessert.
Their menu selection is vast... I always feel I'm spoilt for choice!!!
Ingredients used in food preparation there are all VERY fresh!
All menu items are authentically prepared & served with hardly any waiting time involved even if the place is quite full.
All their food items are extremely reasonably priced.
Their value-for-money Set Lunch is superb with too many excellent choices!
Love the spicy soup that's served as part of their set lunch!
I also LOVE their Thai Iced Tea... simply the best!!!
Place is operated by 3 Thais... who are VERY friendly & efficient.
I love all the cute 'green frogs' displayed all over the restaurant which goes right along with the Frog Thai restaurant name.
"A must-try-place" indeed!!!
happy birthday (this place rocks).
best food and the cost is really too low for how good the food is. i go there once a week and ended up their on my birthday and they did the whole song and everything. i love this place and even drive form portland just to go there.
ps. people that work here are the best
Excellent food, under appreciated. Our first time at Frog Thai was a Friday night at 5:30 pm with 8 people. We were the only ones in the place at first. We were there about 2 hours and only 2 tables filled during that time. I think this place is in a very bad location behind a tavern but that won't stop us from going there. Our family had just gone to the 2 Thai places in Oregon City since it was close but we will now drive the extra 2 miles to go to Frog. Very good food, good portions and reasonably priced. My husband and I had Tom Kai Gai soup, dancing shrimp, yellow curry and a beef noodle dish I can't remember the name of. Tell all your friends to go and support this place to keep it open for all to enjoy!! I really loved the menu got a kick of some of the names of things and spelling errors like Sweet Rice and Mange. Service was ok but there were 8 of us and the menu said everything is made to order even the soup!
Reasonable prices.. Quick, pleasant service, food was really good and reasonably priced. Looking forward to going back.
This place is too empty - fill it up!!.
I recently moved back to Milwaukie after having lived away for 6 years. I was driving down McLoughlin shortly after moving back and casually looked over to see if a Chinese restaurant that was really good (Happy Village) was still there. I saw that it had been replaced by Frog Thai Cuisine. A few weeks later we had a friend over who said he was craving "ethnic" food (which I argued is any food, but that's another story) so I suggested this thai place I wanted to try. It was a Friday night and the Ranch Tavern - right in front of this place - was bustling, but there was only one pair of people at the Frog Thai. We ordered a bunch of things (we were really hungry) and every single thing delivered. Appetizers, soup, pad thai, curry - yum! We were stuffed, and it was really reasonably priced. The waiter was really really nice and very grateful and appreciative as well.
I liked it so well that I ordered dinner to go 4 days later. And again, everything was delightful :)
Please support this place - I think we'd all like it to stay!
Awesome place hidden.
We decided to try the new thai place on McLoughlin because it's near our house. It was super delicious, a great value, and the service and ambiance was also excellent.
We had dancing shrimp, salad rolls, jasmine tea, strawberry lemonade, cashew chicken, yellow tofu curry (they will make any dish vegetarian), and fried bananas with raspberry sauce and the total was just $30. The waitress was super sweet and helpful, and the food was really good. We ate just half of it and are looking forward to eating the rest as leftovers. We did not really enjoy the dessert, but there were other, more normal choices available. The curry was sweet and hot. We decided to recommend it to our friends before we even found out how inexpensive the food was. It was really a great value.
