great deal of sushi!. Price was very very reasonable, food was fresh.

Service was good, atmosphere was above average.

Best deal in town when it comes to Sushi deals...

DON'T GO HERE!!!. If you want stomach cramps, fever, nausea, and all that comes along with that, this place is for you.

The worst sushi I've ever had. Just got off a phone call with the county Health Department because I feel absolutely terrible after eating here. Even for a conveyor belt sushi place, this place is SO BAD!!!! Please do not go here. I would gladly have paid way more for quality sushi had I known how horrible I would feel today (and I'm a broke student).

Not Baby-friendly. We went here with our two kids to have a meal and when we asked for a high chair we were told that we couldn't use them at the tables. Then, when we had to change a diaper, there were no changing tables in the bathroom. We asked where we could change a diaper and were told that we couldn't. Then, a waitress came and stopped open a door right next to our table, it was very cold! On top of that, the sushi chefs really skimped on the avocados, all of the food, for that matter. I would go to Sushi Ichiban on Broadway and NW Couch if you're looking for good food and a child-friendly enviroment!

Love the Belt. Good sushi for a good price. Plus on Saturdays they have cheaper options.

Me and a friend go there just for the sushi off the belt. My friend always worries about the price but we both get full off of 10-15 dollars for dinner, so I really don't mind flipping the bill. Good quality and even the quantity isn't bad. Always seems so full of different options, it's great. Definitely will return.

Best Cheap Eat for Dinner. Great bargain! The sushi pieces come out on the conveyor belt, you take a seat at the counter and pick what you like. There were many different varieties of sushi, as well as a fruit bowl to wash it down. My friend and I ate till we were stuffed and spent $7.50 each, for dinner! A great place to take a date.

Wonderful for dinner!. Loved this place for dinner: great food, ample portions, friendly staff! However, my partner and I were seriously disappointed when we lunched there this week. The price seemed reasonable until we saw the size of the portions: our entrees were equal to appetizer portions; no wonder they tried to get us to add an appetizer to our meal! If they are only going to provide a very small portion of teriyaki salmon with a scoop of rice (and it tasted much better at dinner), they need to up the price to provide quality! Same thing with the lunch sushi option. One roll (about 8 pieces) and only 1 other piece of sushi, served with the ubiquitous iceberg lettuce. Also, the friendly, attentive service we got at dinner was missing during our lunch experience. A disappointment, but since dinner was enjoyable, I'm still giving it a 4 star rating.

Favorite sushi in Portland. Being Japanese and from Hawaii I love sushi!! Blue Fin has the best sushi I have had in the 3 years I've been in Portland. Their variety of rolls are delicious and filling, accommodating almost any person's taste in sushi. Their nonsushi options of teriyaki or katsu chicken are delicious and great for people who do not enjoy sushi. They also serve noodles and miso upon request (not everything is on the conveyer). The atmosphere is fun and fresh, unlike some of the crowded and stuffy sushi places I've been to before. The service is great and the price is right during their $1.50 specials. You should go!!

One of the best in town. First thing you should know before reading this review: I hate fish. Why am I then reviewing a sushi bar? Because there is more to sushi than raw fish.

Blue Fin opened a little over a year ago and during this time last summer, I spent many days perched in front of their carousel. By far my favorite item was their Avocado and Crab plates. In fact, it was the main reason for my visits.

But for some reason, the chefs there became less and less willing to make them for me. By the end of summer our waitress was having to cajole the chefs. Finally, my husband and I had had enough. Why patronize an establishment that refuses to prepare what is on their menu?

Last Saturday, our moratorium ended? and I?m glad it did. Not only were we satiated with 4 plates each of the Avocado and Crab, but we were thrilled with some of their new creations: the baked Sesame ball, the breaded and fried Teriyaki Chicken and a new favorite? Crab Stuffed Mushroom caps.

The price per plate is very reasonable and especially on their $1.50 per plate Saturdays. All in all I recommend Blue Fin for your sushi cravings.

My final word: One of the best in town.

That "not-so-fresh" feeling. Not a stop on the "udon and roe show." Udon flying solo rates Blue Fin two stars. I went this past saturday at 1pm. With their $1.50 price for all plates on saturday, one would think that they would have a constant flow of fresh product. This was not the case. The nigiri was mediocre at best. Not to mention they didn't even have maguro. Heh? Their rolls were nothing special as the sauce they used completely overpowered any ingredient which may or may not have been in the middle. Hard to tell. For the non sushi guests.....the warm dishes were ice cold. MMMM ice cold spring rolls and chicken katsu. Bleh. I think this place stays open because the college students at PSU are convinced they are eating real sushi!! As a side note, the edamame was brown. brown? ok.

Great sushi, amazing service. The best way to get your experience at this restaurant is to be served by the "blue-haired girl" who is usually always there in the mornings. Her service is perhaps one of the best I've had in portland, and there are many people who feel the same way. She's a kind of small store celebrity, and for a good reason too.

If you aren't being served by her, I'd give the restaurant 3 stars. It isn't amazing, but it isn't bad. However, her service gives the place a four star rating. Even when you are getting a to-go, she manages to make you feel completely welcome in a non-fake way. I told her my name once and she still remembers it every time I come in, as well as my family's. There was one time where she I spotted her being followed around by three little kids playing puppy dogs while she was serving drinks.

I don't know her hours, but I do know I see her almost always on Wednesday and Friday mornings. Go there for her service, and the meal comes as part of the experience.
