Editorial Review for The North Bar – by Elizabeth Lopeman

In Short
North Bar is a classic bar with kitschy art on the walls and a menu that not only offers bar-food staples such as nachos, quesadillas and three-cheese panini, but also recalls English pubs that serve traditional Indian curries. The dishes are affordable and lower-priced snacks are available too. Hipsters, laborers and a professional set convene at the bar for the relaxed atmosphere, pool table and seasonal sidewalk seating.

Met a couple friends here, trying something new. Holly was our bartender. She didn't have much of a personality and did nothing to make me feel welcome or even existant when I arrived ahead of my friends. There's a sign that states "Order at the Bar". Even so, you'd think when, in the entire bar, there's only myself alone and another group of 3 people at another table, that she might consider looking my way, maybe asking how I was doing, if I might want something? I wasn't offered a menu. Nothing to make me feel like I mattered. My friends came in and we had a couple more drinks. I saw people eating but maybe she didn't want to have to make anything. We left and said goodbye to Holly. She barely acknowledged us. Coulda shoulda maybe said, "bye. thanks for coming by. come back again." This is how places go out of business. Maybe we'll try it again. See whom else works there. You can expect another review then. I think the place is cute and could be fun. But I need better service than that.
