I adore this place. Having lived in New Orleans, I can honestly say the food is as close to authentic as I've tasted in Portland. When I'm craving southern cooking, that's where I go. Great gumbo and the ambience is just lovely. It's often busy when I go, but the service is always great, and I usually end up taking an order of something with me to share with whomever couldn't join our group that time. The one in SE (The Delta Cafe) is great too, if you're in that neighborhood.

This sister-restaurant to the Delta Cafe in SE is much more tame. It's crowded, but it's not the chaos of the SE location. Same delicious Southern food and interesting cocktails. The greens are the best....I even have dreams about them!

Miss Delta serves up delicious southern style cuisine. The portions are huge, especially the fried chicken which is perfectly crunchy on the outside and super moist inside. The fried okra is right on as is the mac and cheese which is baked. They have a unique cocktail menu. My favorite is the ginger drop made with fresh ginger, lemon and ginger infused vodka. Crowded on the weekends.
