I moved from the mid-west this past fall I have not been able to find a good hair person, until this past weekend! Kellye is extremely talented and took the time to really understand what I wanted. Not only did she give me exactly what I was after, but also showed me how to recreate the look myself. I love the versatility and I'm so excited to get highlights next week! I highly recommend her especially if you are looking for a change.

This place is a filthy dump! The girls doing pedicures do them out of buckets and the tools they used were not properly sanitized! I looked around and there was dirt and grime everywhere! This place needs help!

Sparkle Beauty Bar - The Best in Portland!. I have visited so many hair salons over the years, and dumped so much money on hairdos that really were hairDON"TS, it makes my head spin! All the hype, the austere surroundings, the styled staff I've become so accustomed to...well, to make a long story short, I found the REAL DEAL at the Sparkle Beauty Bar in NE Portland. In the little blue house behind the Sparkle Beauty Bar sign, magic happened to my hair! As a woman "of a certain age" (60), I got used to the hair helmet, and the oddly colored hairstyles from beauty professionals around Portland. My mantra of "don't cut it short" was ALWAYS met with short hair as a finished product. WELL, it came as a wonderful surprise to me that this little, local hair salon also did hair extensions at an AFFORDABLE PRICE! Lo and behold, I now have the (real) hair of my dreams, long and beautiful! Not only am I estatic, I receive compliments and exclamations of "Nice hair!" My stylist , Jenni, is the absolute best....patient, kind, and well-versed in all manners of hair...My highest hair style recommendation goes to Sparkle Beauty Bar. Visit there, and walk away with the best hair style of your life, like me!

Top Quality Hair Cut. I had my hair cut by Tami. She gave me the best quality hair cut I've had in a long time and I usually go to higher quality salons. She really takes care to make sure that the cut is done precisely. I highly recommend that you give Sparkle Beauty Bar a try. Thank you Tami.

So Proud of these Girls. I am so proud of all of the girls at Sparkle. As one of the original owners who started the salon back in 2006, and are no longer involved, we never imagined it would be continued and live on once we moved on! Sparkle I'm sure, has obviously been through some re-imaginings lately, but what I love about these girls is that they continue to keep a very certain spirit alive and well, that the salon was born to have: Sparkle is NOT your typical salon. Sparkle is a place where real people live, work and play. These people just happen to be some of the most talented hair extension experts, nail techs, stylists and waxers around. This salon isn't supposed to be about "Look at me, look at me! I'm the pretty stylist." This salon was born to be a relaxed environment, for REAL women who work, live and know that a haircut is about making a client feel comfortable and welcomed...NOT just excepted by the majority. The salon knows acceptance is something you must find in yourself, and they are there to help you along your journey! Sparkle is a salon that participates in the environmental future, the community and LIFE. They are there to show you that, sure hair is important, but you don't HAVE to have a certain haircut, a certain "look" to feel good about being you. You just have to learn to be comfortable with yourself. This is not going to be a salon for everyone, there are many clients and personalities out there who enjoy the lack of talk, the everyday hired receptionist, the cold surroundings of just another Pearl District salon. However, if you are looking for an intimate, special, real and honest old school beauty parlor experience with an update, this will make you smile. That makes me smile, and hope that Sparkle will always continue to thrive, grow and live on, on it's own. Responsible Beauty.

Sparkle is relaxing and awesome!. I have been going to Sparkle for almost four years now! The staff is very professional and care about their customers. Even after I moved to Silverton, I make the commute (two hours round trip) because of the excellent service! I originally started going because of an ingrown toenail (which I have not had anymore thanks to Melissa!) but continue to go because of the relaxing nature of the experience. I highly advice trying it out...you will be very happy!

Sparkle is one of those places that makes Portland great.. Sparkle has an awesome staff that always gives me a great hair cut. it's obvious they take pride in their work and listen to what i want. The shop is a cute house set off the street which creates a really pleasant atmosphere. The stylists are fun to talk with and it makes the whole experience a joy instead of a chore. Sparkle is a great place, try it out!

Talented and upbeat staff creates a great atmosphere. I have been going to Sparkle Beauty Bar for over a year when the time comes for a hair cut and an acrylic nail fill. All of the hair stylists are up to date on the latest styles and are experienced no matter what hair type one has. At the end of the cut my stylist always makes sure that I am satistfied with the end result. When I decided that I wanted to treat myself to acrylic nails I knew exactly where to go. The nail tech is very talented and well knowledged. She makes sure that I am comfortable and I always feel I am in the company of a friend. The conversation seems to be never ending between the entire staff and their clients. Whatever the service is you seek, every one at Sparkle Beauty Bar will make sure that your every wish is catered to and you leave feeling like a pampered goddess.

awesome customer service, a great experience. i was greeted as soon as i walked through the door. all the stylist where very friendly and nice.i was offered a beverage as soon as i sat down.. i went in for a haircut, i was a little unsure of the exact style i wanted but my stylist was very helpful and gave me great advice. the stylist made sure to ask me if i liked my cut or if i wanted to change anything, they were very reassuring in the fact if i wanted to change something with my style i could, it made me feel like they weren't just trying to rush me out the door. at the end of the service i decided i wanted to get some waxing done, they were more then happy to help me with that service. the wax room was very clean and they did a great job. i would highly recommend this salon to others

Unskilled Stylist & Unprofessional Salon. My stylist was incapable of a simple bob. Basically it was just a trim, not too complex, but she managed to give me a hair cut that is probably the worst I have ever had. It is as if she listened to everything I asked her to do, and did the exact opposite. Every day I look in the mirror and curse the day I walked into Sparkle Beauty Bar!

Not only was my stylist completely incompetent, but the atmosphere in this salon was so unprofessional. There were at least four other stylists just sitting around and gossiping. One of them actually had her little dog running around and when her appointment arrived he had to hold her dog while she did his hair!

Cute name, great location are the only things going for this salon - don't be fooled like I was.
