Came for the presentation, stayed for the product. So, my wife and I came in last year to a presentation. We had a heck of a time getting a babysitter for our little one. My parents have been to a ton of Timeshare presentations so they prepared us to turn this down. I have to say though, what we did was totally unexpected. We became owners. Now you can laugh at me or call me a sucker but we have been to the beach 3 times and Seattle, and Sunriver. All we do is local drive-to places. We did nothing in the 3 years leading up to it because I was a cheapskate about renting hotel rooms (plus hotels aren't fun with kids, right?) The kids love it and we have already gotten our money's worth. I highly recommend VI if you want a vacation plan to force you to go.

Did not deliver. I was also promised on the phone to receive a $50 gift certificate for dinner, round trip airline tickets and a gas card. I even made a point to confirm with the marketing company that I made enough money and was old enough to attend the presentation (as I've been burned by this in the past with these types of things). They confirmed that I was indeed and so I went out of my way to get up there. When I did it was a different story. The person who took me back was rude and condescending and basically told me it wasn't his problem that I didn't make enough money, blaming the marketing company and even told me maybe I should talk to them if I was upset! Uhm, it's YOUR business that is losing people here, so maybe you should talk to your own marketing people. Wouldn't recommend them, and definitely won't be going back.

Dishonest and False Promises. My wife and I were invited to learn about the VI Resort and for our time were offered a $50 gift card and 2-night vacation at select locations. After spending over an hour driving over to their Vancouver office, I was told that I would not get the gifts promised -- at least we didn't have to sit through the timeshare presentation. The manager blamed the incident on the Marketing firm that called us on the phone because they promissed things that VI was not offering. My complaint is that the Marketing firm was hired by VI and VI should have at least compensated us for out time and gas.
