Thai BBQ is always amazing! We are locals that frequent here for curries, pad thai, and of course, home made salad rolls!
Problem in the kitchen. This has been our "go to" take out spot for three years and the last couple of times I've noticed the cooking is slipping. We usually order the spicy noodles (pad kee mao). Tonight, when we brought it home and opened the box, the noodles looked dry. No sauce= no taste. So we drove it back to the restaurant. The waitress was really nice and apologetic but when the food came out again, I tasted it before I got in my car and the noodles were still dry except there were a ton of pepper flakes in the noodles. I decided not to go back in and try to explain again. The noodles were then scorching hot spicy and almost inedible. I'm sad because I have to find a new thai take out place.
fine. good, but with an awesome pho restaurant next door why bother? If you need ribs and drive by, why not? Other than a real hankering there are too many other places to choose from.
Reasonable and tasty!. I picked up some take out from Thai BBQ last weekend and was pleasantly surprised with the food. I'm fairly picky when it comes to thai food and have had a lot of thai from around Portland. I ordered the Tom Kha soup and chicken satay skewers w/ peanut sauce. I could tell they were really busy when I called but my food was prepared and waiting for me when I showed up about 15 minutes after I placed my order. The soup had a lot of vegetables and meat in it, sometimes this soup can be a lot of coconut milk and not much else but I was really happy with Thai BBQ's version. The soup could have had a little more spice to it-although they do offer different levels of how spicy you want something but I wasn't asked when I called. The satay skewers were moist and had a great curry-ish flavor to them. Overall I was satisfied with Thai BBQ and glad it's located near me!
authentic with great service. Don't be skeptical because of the gaudy exterior or how small it is. This place serves up excellent Thai. Aside from being affordable it's freakin' delicious! Try their crab fried rice. It actually has chunks of real crab in it and isn't super oily like most fried rice I've had in this city. Their portion sizes are also very reasonable and all the servers are really friendly. The only thing I didn't like were the very bland salad rolls. All in all it's a keeper. Check it out!
I love Thai Bbq.

I love all the dishes that I try . The crab rangoon ,

Food is tasty but the service is not good.
We've been here a couple of time but always for take out. This time we decided to eat there. Long story short, when our food was brought to us, my boyfriend's order was a completely wrong dish. As polite as possible (and I work in the service industry and I know polite), he informed the waitress that he was given the wrong dish and apologized for having cut into it. The waitress rolled her eyes at him and asked in the snottiest tone possible if he wanted to change it. He said yes and apologized again. At this point, she took his plate and then disappeared. She didn't fill our water, she didn't ask if we needed anything, nothing at all. In about fifteen minutes where his correct meal was completed, she brought it to the table, slapped it down. We thanked her and walked away without a word. She checked on the one other person in the tiny place about five times without a glance to us while we finished our meals. She brought the check without a word. And I said thank you as we were leaving and she barely acknowledged us.
The food here is really good, but we will not be back anytime soon and definitely not for anything other than take out. We will be thinking twice before discussing returning. With so many great thai places in Portland, there are a bunch of other places I could go where the food is just as good and the service is leaps and bounds better.
VERY TASTY. EXCELLENT FOOD FAST FRIENDLY SEVICE. TRY THE CRAB RAGOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND THE PAD THAI IS TO DIE FOR
