My husband surprised me with a half-dozen cupcakes for my birthday last week. He'd been to St. Cupcakes first, but alas, they are shut on Mondays, so he thought he'd give Cupcake Jones a shot. He was suspicious of the cheerios decorating one cupcake, and what looked like a dried apple slice on another. Neither one of us could figure out which was supposed to be what - was that banana or carrot cake? Was that lemon, or just plain yellow cake? If it wasn't chocolate, we weren't sure WHAT it was. The frosting was like butter, and I don't mean that in a good way. All in all, I'll stick with St. Cupcake, or make my own. Definitely not impressed. Perhaps the Belmont location has better ingredient than the Pearl?
Pros: Good sturdy carry-box
Cons: Bland, blah decorations, dry cake

I was excited when I discovered this cupcake shop in the Pearl District; however, I quickly became disappointed after my first bite. The cupcake/icing was not moist and not worth $3.75!!! If you are searching for a delicious, moist cupcake, then I would recommend the Sugar Cube cart at 9th and Alder-- you've got to go early though because they usually sell out by the end of the day.
Pros: Variety.
Cons: Taste.
