Tanya is such a professional! My husband and I had a consultation with her for an idea we had. When we returned to see the final design and have the tattoo she really did exceed expectations...we were thrilled! Tanya is very clear with her instructions for aftercare, the tattoo healed perfectly. We are already thinking of ideas for our next tattoo with Tanya & Above the Pearl Tattoo!

Tanya just covered up an old tattoo on my shoulder with an amazing new shiny one, and she did a great job! Tanya is a great artist, she came up with the art from a few ideas I gave her and I loved her design. She's also a very nice person to talk to, she made me feel comfortable and checked on me often while she worked on my back for 3 hours. I can tell she takes her job with pride because it shows in every step of the process. This is definitely not a walk-in type shop, the studio is nice and clean and very private. I would definitely go to Tanya again and I highly recommend her studio.

Went to Above the Pearl back in October to get my second tattoo. I knew what I wanted, but it was a somewhat complicated design (lots of circles, little straight parallel lines, etc). Tanya was fantastic. Professional, clear with communication about how my idea could be achieved, and excellent with execution. My tattoo has completely healed by now and still looks great. Highly recommended!

We met Tanya at a tattoo expo in Eugene and were impressed by her art and the crisp execution of her designs. We decided she would be perfect for our tattooing needs. After a thorough consultation to define exactly what we were looking for in our new tattoos, Tanya produced preliminary art for my wife and I that was exactly what we were looking for. Tanya executed the designs perfectly creating a fantastic parrot for me and a vibrant butterfly for my wife. The colors are super vivid and we couldnâ??t be happier with our tattoos. We enjoy looking at our tattoos every day and consider ourselves lucky to have made Tanyaâ??s acquaintance.

Everything I hoped for and more. I started with a piece of artwork that I wanted to translate into a tattoo. After looking at various online reviews I contacted Tanya based on outstanding reviews. We met to discuss the concept, and with her help we made changes to the image that resulted in an even better design that I had imaged. We met again after she had created a basic concept for the tattoo, at which time we tweaked the image to its final form. The end result tattoo is outstanding with excellent detail. Tanya works with you every step of the way to make sure that the final result is what you want, and a great looking tattoo.

great tattoo experience!. Tanya did a wonderful job on a new tattoo for my husband and a cover up tattoo for myself. She is clearly passionate about her work, and cares that her clients get exactly what they want. Her studio is very clean and bright, and it is clear that she maintains strict hygiene measures. After our tattoos, Tanya sent us home with clear, specific, easy to follow after care instructions. My tattoo healed beautifully! I am so happy with the tattoo I received at Above the Pearl, it makes me happy every time I see it and have gotten many compliments from friends and family. If you want a quality piece of art that you will have for a life time then Above the Pearl is the place to go, it is well worth the wait!

The Pearl of Portland :-). My first tattoo....

Had an initial mtg. to share/review ideas on artwork I had brought to her. A few days prior to tattoo work, Tanya met with me briefly to show me various artwork she had come up with, & she nailed it.

The entire experience was nothing but positive. From very first contact to set our initial appt., the work itself, & through her communication regarding aftercare everything was absolutely great. Tanya is experienced, talented, patient, & absolutely creative. Her shop is extrememly clean & comfortable (can't beat her ipod music shuffle either).

I have had many compliments on her work already, some from others who have had their work done elsewhere.

A+ experience & atmosphere. Tanya is a true talent, and just as important, simply really good people :-)

I'll be back to see her for my next one soon......she's made a lifetime customer out of me. I don't often do these reviews, etc., but a tattoo is personal & permanent and I just felt I had to share this with others. Thanks Tanya.

Couldn't ask for anything more. This was my first tattoo. Tanya was very helpful through the whole process and answered all of my questions. She gave her advice on what she thought would look better than what I had planned and she was right! My tattoo had a lot of detail and nothing was missed. WHEN I get my next tattoo I know where I will be going. Thanks again Tanya!

Very Professional and Trustworthy. I thoroughly enjoyed having Tanya do my first tattoo. She did fabulous work with the script and gave wonderful advice. Do know that she will be striaght forward with you so if you need fluff you won't get it here, but if you want high quality work first and foremost this is the place!
