Friends and I visited HUB last night and experienced terrible service. First, my husband ordered a beer and was served the wrong one. The waitress was argumentative when told it was incorrect instead of just accepting responsibility and moving on. Wait there's more...we ordered our pizza and I ordered a salad. I'm told the pizza was good but I never received my salad. After reminding the waitress of my salad order, and being told it would only be 2 minutes longer, it never arrived. My friends finished their pizza and still no salad. After asking three separate people for the salad, I canceled the order all together. We were about to pay the bill and leave when along came the salad. All we could do was laugh and leave a very small tip. Could be a cool spot if they would get the service right. Not sure if I'll go back though.

First off, I like beer. Secondly, I like organic food. Hopworks combines the best of both. The first few times I went there the service was good, food was tasty and the beer was sensational (best ESB in Portland). Unfortunately for me, today will be the last time I will ever sit anywhere but the bar (cause the beer is to good not to go back). I however, will never sit in the restaurant or recommend it to friends because our snarky waitress Katelyn C. made the experience almost unbearble. Not only did we wait five minutes after sitting down to order our first beer... It was our only beer because she never came back after taking our food order. The food was great, not that she brought it, or our beers for that matter, to us. I have worked in the food service industry for over 5 years and if I ever gave service that was as appalling as what I recieved today I would be ashamed of myself. So to katelyn... find another career, food service is not for you. And to her managers it's not that hard to find good help these days.
