Excellent all around!. I had 4 bids - OTC was very competitive and matched the bid of another company. But what really sold me is the knowledge of the arborist who talked with me and gave me so much good information about my trees. He was the most knowledgeable of all the people who came out and was also very good at communicating. He was the same one who came out and did the work instead of someone instructing someone else what to do. I was very pleased and will be calling them back next year.…
Try Them - You Won't Be Sorry!.
We live in a west Portland suburb and have many large trees -- some storm damaged and others just in need of pruning and shaping. We sought bids from several "Big Name" companies who bid high prices
and recommended that many of the trees be removed.
Damien and his team at Oregon Tree Care had a very different approach. They came in wanting to ensure tree health and provided us with very reasonable bids and environmentally healthy solutions. They offered the lowest bid, and did a fantastic job. They took core samples of one tree that others said would need to be removed. They determined that the tree is completely healthy and just in need of some pruning and some organic treatment. We were thrilled!
We will definitely have them back next year to do more work for us. We highly recommend them!…
Money Hungry - No Credibility.
First off, he told us he was going to be here by 1pm and he ended up showing up late. Next he gave us 2 quotes, one smaller quote ($150) to take a part a fallen piece of a tree and then quoted us
$400 to prune the rest of my tree. He was great other than showing up late, he was pretty cool.
We told him we needed to think about it. He told us to give him a call before 8pm that night and if we did, he would be back out tomorrow to take care of everything. We called him back at 6:30pm, he didn't pick up, fine no big deal. He calls back almost an hour later. We tell him that we shopped around a bit and another place said they would charge us $250 for the pruning job but we were OK with the $150 for the fallen tree. He goes "how about $275?". Seemed reasonable. We told him let's hold off on the full job but if he could do the more immediate piece (take care of the fallen tree) we can make arrangements for the $275 later. He said "OK, since it's late now I have no idea what is on my schedule tomorrow, let me call Tracy (I guess his assistant) in the morning and call you tomorrow at 9". It sounded reasonable.
The next day, 9 rolls around, no call. We called him at 10am and leave him a message. By 8pm that night, still no calls back from Damien. He totally blew us off. How can you do that to a customer!? If you're not going to take the job don't commit.…
Nice and fast. Fast, personal and got the job done. That's what it is all about. n They cleaned up well after they were done, and gave me tips to help in the future.
