Casual bastion of French pastries, tasty French onion soup, and easy, affordable bistro meals. No, it's not St Jack, but it's consistent and unpretentious--good things in my book.

Go early if you need a bit of solitude with your croissant, otherwise enjoy the faux French fracas at this cheery bakery. This is hardly the time of year to be counting calories—so order the cream cheese-stuffed berry brioche French toast, but make sure your schedule can accommodate a very long nap immediately thereafter.

Why stand for the short wait when you can do it up French-style? Grab some of their delicious fresh baked pain and head home with some butter & jam.

This charming restaurant looks very Parisian but one look at their portion size, you"ll know for certain that you're in Portland not Paris. Far more Carhartt than Chanel would be another tip off.

French pastries, cakes, and croissants & well crafted sandwiches and breakfast plates on a street bursting with Asian and Mexican spots.
Beautiful place, excellent pastries, and decent service. Satisfying and interesting menu. Feels comfortably and appropriately European.
Amazing bakery items and menu. Wide selection of treats and brunch items. Unfortunetly it is always packed so seating is very tight. Good service, excellent quality of food, and fair pricing. A favorite place to go!
Great Bakery Items !. I always get great pastries and fresh bread from Petite Provence on Alberta. The staff is welcoming and make for a great "Alberta" experience. If you don't want to wait for a table, everything on the menu is available To-Go too !
i'm addicted to this place!. I go at least once a week if just to get a pastry or coffee. I haven't tried all the pastries yet but all the ones i have are DELICIOUS. And their coffee is excellent. There food is also amazing. Haven't had anything there I didn't like. I always get great service especially from my favorite waitress Jane. She's awesome. It's true they are slammed for breakfast on the weekends and I haven't been when they are really busy. This is a must go and truly a Portland gem.
Cute little place!. I've only been to the location on Division. This is a cute little place, which there could be a long wait in the morning. But they offer free coffee while you wait. The salmon hash is delicious and I love their croissants, its so buttery and flaky. The staff is also very nice.
One of my favorites. I love Petite Provence. I've been to both locations regularly and they're both fantastic. I'm generally not easy to please when it comes to food, and with one exception I've loved everything on the menu. The Northwest Salmon Hash might be my favorite meal in all of Portland. The staff is always genuine and friendly regardless of how busy it is and the food is always fresh. A must-eat.
Very Nice Place. I sat next to 'Veronica' on this particular day, and it seemed to me that nothing would make her happy. When we walked in the place it was packed and people were working very hard, and it was clearly marked 'Please wait to be seated.' A gentleman - who was helping clear tables and host - eventually came to us to write our names down on the list - we were in no hurry, as we could see there would be a wait. We grabbed a cup of coffee and waited our turns to be seated. The coffee was delicious, and the view of the pastries and desserts was a fun diversion from the wait. This woman was seated just after we were and all I could hear from her were complaints. She sent her food back, was still unhappy and she was even nasty to the waitress when she offered her complementary pastries as well as her free meal. We figured she was one of those people who goes around looking for free meals at restaurants. Our meal, on the other hand, was delicious. Big plate of corned beef hash with perfectly poached eggs and a zingy horseradish sauce, and my friends' risotto cakes and eggs was equally yummy. We will be back, hopefully without Veronica to sit next to.
don't ruin your day. the waiting line for tables, at 10 AM on Saturday was not tended to. we had to grab the staff to ask of we could get a table, so did other people. The tables in the middle are slanted and uncomfortable. The front door shuts too slowly and freezes the entire restaurant, including your meal. My meal went like this: eggs undercooked, (that means runny white inside), potato/vegetable pancake burnt, then delivered again w/ undercooked potatoes, the meal was cold overall. Will never be back! They comped us for one dish, to their credit!
TOTALLY CHARMING, GREAT STAFF TOO!. Wow, do I love being able to pop in when I have business in this Alberta St area, which is pretty darn often, since this location has recently opened. This is my absolute favorite place--ambiance--great coffee--and the pastries--who could resist, so gorgeous AND delicious!! Kudos to their awesome chefs! Not sure of the names of the great gals who hustle around cheerfully and efficiently--keeping it all running so smoothly--think they are Mary and Jeanna and there are others, of course. It's always a treat when staff know their products and give great customer service !
BE AWARE.
We have been in this place 3 times and we were overcharged 3 times even after the correction on the third time.
Please ask for your detailed receipt and check your items.
Their bakeries are good and coffee is OK.
The problem is the line is long sometimes and most people do not ask for their receipts or ignore the overcharged items. Lucky for the bakery!
I give this place 3 stars because of this problem.
