Best Salon Ever!. Deanna, owner of Ginger Salon, is a "hair whisperer"! Seriously, this chic lady knows good hair! Since I began going to Ginger Salon I get compliments on my hair ALL THE TIME! Not just on the cut, but the color as well. Let me tell you, as the pickiest person in the world, Deanna is so great to work with! She has crazy patience with me, which is not easy to do.

Over two years later, I still get complimented all the time! I truly have never been so happy with my hair, and I will never go anywhere else! Go check out Ginger Salon! They just moved to a larger location within the Active Space building located on Lovejoy, right at street level, you can't miss it! They also have a location In the Irvington Neighborhood.

I LOVE this salon. Ginger Salon is everything that is hip and fabulous about Portland and nothing that can be stuffy and pretentious about the pearl.Out of the 15 or so hairstylists I have had over the years Deanna is the only one who has always given me exactly what I wanted. I am 32 and have finally found my life long partner in hair. As a women that is one of life's most important finds (maybe right after your spouse-maybe).Teri

Awesome!. Amazing haircut by Deanna who takes the time, is honest, is critical of her own work (in a good way; she actually LOOKS at you IN your hair to see what's up and how she can modify as she goes along). She doesn't "upsell" you products. After a string of bad experiences with stylists in this area, I'm HOOKED!

Personalized service. Mandy Zelinka of 77 recently joined the Ginger staff at the NW location, and she can rock some color! She's always up on the latest trends, so you'll never be stuck with something cookie-cutter or outdated. She works best when you give suggestions but aren't too rigid, and you won't be disappointed!

Hands down the best haircut EVER!. So one Sunday night I realized that I desperately needed a change. I hadn't gotten my hair cut in about a year and it had grown REALLY long - it was cascading down my back. There was no styling or anything and it was just time. I didn't know where to go and I really hate spending a ton of money on a haircut!

I asked around and searched on the internet and came across Ginger Salon and saw there were a lot of good reviews (on here actually) and it wasn't very expensive. AND they had a late night time slot available on a Sunday night last minute!! Awesome!

I showed up to this intimate little space and was warmly greeted. I had no idea what I wanted at all but knew I needed something drastic. Amberleigh gauged what kind of haircut I needed by whether or not I was going to be single soon. Lol. She started to snip away (inch after inch came off) and I was a little nervous but I trusted her.

At the end of the hour I came away with pretty much the best haircut I've ever had. People at my office who I never talk to were commenting on my hair! People in meetings and friends kept on commenting on it! It was amazing! Even people I'd never met before said they loved my haircut. That has never happened before.

I am so sold - I love this place. I'm going to be moving to Japan very soon but will be sure to get my haircut from Amberleigh before I go to hold me over and go back to her whenever I'm back in town for visits. Go here - you'll love the atmosphere and you will be guaranteed to get your money's worth! Just look at how many 5 star reviews they're getting!

You don't even know how lucky you are!. Portland, you are in for a treat. My stylist Marci has been doing my hair for 10 years. She moved form LA to San Francisco, and I waited months to get my hair done until she was back in town. Now she is only on LA a few times a year and I wait. I have even planned trips to SF to catch her when she is styling there.

I love her because she listens to me and doesn't shoot down my ideas. I always have a few pictures and sometimes a sketch. She always takes the time to figure out what works for my hair.

Usually with other stylists I would settle for a lousy cut because color is so important to me. With Marci I get amazing cut and color. BONUS!

Stina is GREAT. Stina did my hair at Ginger and I LOVE it. I went in having NO IDEA what I wanted done and she gave me a great new look. Her cutting edge style and vivid imagination make her styles fun and feisty, yet chic and classy at the same time. Love her.

PERFECT HAIR!!!!. They gave a complimentary hand relaxation therapy while my hair was processing. I also had a wonderful cocktail, great conversation and my hair fabulous.

Deanna: Simply the best. I am THE high maintenance customer. I have tried many different salons of all price points and Deanna and Ginger Salon are far superior to all Portland Salons. She has amazing precision while still allowing her artistic side and 'Ginger' signature to shine through. The Ginger sanctuary is simply the best choice for all your hair needs and wants.

Amazing Salon - I can't wait to go back!. I never saw the value in spending more than $10 for a haircut (I'm a guy after all) until I went to the Ginger Salon. That place made my whole day brighter. My hair has never looked or felt so good. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone looking to try a new place.
