Best massage ever!. From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with smiles and were very friendly and accommodating. They made sure that I was comfortable while waiting for my massage (the wait was brief). The environment was very relaxing and clean. As for the massage, I had a girl by the name of Jennifer who gave me the best massage I've ever had. I am definitely going to go here exclusively from now on.
Great Massage and Clinic. The clinic is immaculate and the massage was wonderful. I suffer from neck pain and the therapist did an outstanding job on focusing on specific areas. She was great and I would recommend her to anyone! Very positive experience.
Go see Susan!. I recieve massages through this company on a regular basis and I ALWAYS request Susan. She's not there very many days, but she is worth the wait! She is kind and attentive. Sometimes I even fall asleep! Call them and book with her!
Best Massage Ever!. I've had many massages before, but my first session with Bryan was the most amazing thing I've experienced in my life! I always hold my tension in my neck, and he spent at least a half hour working out those muscles alone. Then he found problem areas that I didn't even mention to him. He was very professional and was able to get me to a highly relaxed state fairly quickly, which is something I often struggle with. I will certainly be back to see him again very soon!
Terrible Experience!.
I will start out by saying I am a massage addict. I have been in the spa industry for years and so I have had a LOT of massages. I have had bad ones and good ones all over the world.
When I called to book a massage I specifically said I need someone who can do deep tissue. Once she told me Lauren was available at the time I wanted, I asked again to be sure if she did deep tissue. I was assured she did.
Lauren does not do deep tissue. Laurn barely does Swedish. Lauren pets. I have some deep adhesions needing work in my rhomboids and traps. I told this to Lauren. She barely got deep enough to find them. She asked me what I was talking about, she couldn't find it. I endured my waste of money massage for the bulk of it, then in hte last few minutes, feeling like my time was getting short, and I should at least ask, I did. I asked her to use her elbow there in my upper traps. She did. She stuck her elbow into my muscle, in one spot, and held it there. Now I get pressure point massage, but the therapist needs some instinct as to how the body is put together. Avoid bone (scapula) and move to a different spot once you feel that spot give. Now admittedly, this part of the massage (the elbow) was the best part of the massage, but it was completely unbalanced, too hard, with no follow up. YOu know, when you use pressure in a massage, you then need some sweeping, lighter pressure motions to release all the craziness that was just loosened. YOu know what I mean, right? Apparantley Lauren didn't. SO I left there with my right upper traps feeling like they had just been beaten to a pulp in some spots, and untouched in others. MY left scapula got nothing. IT was such a joke! I was actually in tears when I left at the waste of time and money I left there. The Massage Envy in Sherwood has some great therapists, and the front desk staff there knows who can or cannot do deep tissue unlike Tualatin, apparantley.
Oh and I thought about saying somehting at the end to let them know how upset I was and not to book Lauren for deep tissue ever ever again, but the Asian woman at the front desk with her fake colored contacts was so insincere when she asked how my massage was that she didn't even not my lackluster "It was fine." She said "OH good!" and told me how much my charges were. LIke anyone would actually think she cared... :( BOOO!!!
miracle working massages and helpful staff.
The other reviews I've read about this place are shocking. I've had nothing but good experiences when I come in for my weekly massages.
In January I was in an accident which has left me with chronic neck and back pain. My chiropractor perscribed massage, and in April I signed on for a membership at Massage Envy. All the massages I've had have been amazing, but I've found one particular therapist that I get along well with and who has fixed problems I never even knew I had.
The people at the front desk have also been great with helping me get copies of my history and insurance reciepts as I go through the legal process of getting paid back for my medical expences resulting from the accident.
My advice is to schedule your massages in advance when you can, especially if you want a specific person. Ask for insurance receipts before your appointment to save time. And try out a lot of therapists until you find the one you have the right chemistry with.
robbery and HORRIBLE manager customer service. At the end of Last August I paid for a one year membership. The massages were so horrible that they made my back hurt worse than before, so I stopped going. So I had paid for 12 massages but only used six...I called today to set up an appointment and they told me my acct had been cancelled. It hasnt even been twelve months but they took the liberty of closing my account. So basically this company stole $275 (6 massages) of my money and with no remorse from management...in fact she wasnt even paying attention half the time I had to repeat myself. I will be taking legal action to obtain what belongs to me. I implore anyone who is thinking of using this company to skip the headache...you will leave more tense and stressed out than when you went in. Furthermore, these employees "expect" a 10-20 dollar tip. They feel that because of the gratuities sign in the reception area they will atomatically get a tip of this amt. One even discussed his tip with me during the massage (for about 20 minutes he went on and on about how most places would charge 120 dollars for this type of massage and when he does it for other ppl they tip him AT LEAST $20) Theres nothing like discussing tips and money to help you relaax during a massage, right? WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GO TO MASSAGE ENVY, ANY LOCATION, EVER!!!!!
Disrespectful of handicapped customers!. Today I was going into the restaurant next to this Massage Envy location (Tualatin next to Chipotle) when someone in a brand new Ferrari pulled up and double parked in the handicapped spot right in front of the storefront. I walked in and let the receptionist at the front desk know that I found this unacceptable (there was no handicapped tag on the car, and the guy who got out of the car walked right in without any signs of being handicapped or difficulty). The receptionist kind of laughed it off. After I picked up my lunch, I came outside and the car was still parked there. I went back in, and apparently the Ferrari owner was in some sort of business meeting with the manager, as the door to the office was shut. I told the receptionist that my next call was going to be to the police, especially seeing how this was now a Massage Envy business meeting! I stood by for a few minutes and no one came out of the office. Clearly Massage Envy doesn't care about it's handicapped clientele and has no respect for them. They will never receive my business, nor the business from my family. I will also be sure to relay this message to anyone I know who is looking for a massage to make sure they go elsewhere.
Poor Customer Service. I went in to Massage Envy (Tualatin) to receive my monthly massage and left feeling more stressed than relaxed. I joined the membership early 2008 and felt great about my commitment to better myself! I would now warn anyone who has customer service issues and wishes to discuss it with the assistant and store managers. They are rude and non-professional, not to mention, you will NOT get your issue(s) resolved. I am very disappointed with my recent experiences and wish for the return of the courtesy and professionalism the previous management established, in early 2008.
