Gentle, Nourishing Care at Singing Bird. Singing Bird aka Andrea and her admin extraordinaire, Terrisa are the best! I was scared of acupuncture and had been saving it as a last ditch effort for my numerous allergies --runny nose, watery eyes, plugged ears, which made me feel like I had a bad head and chest cold all the time. Then, it turned into asthma, and I began the countless western medicines to try to treat it, which worked okay, but I still felt exhausted, emotionally-drained, and well, allergic.

Andrea seemed almost excited when I told her I was going for my allergies and asthma. Apparently, that's one of her specialties. And, no wonder!

In just 1 and 1/2 months, I'm remarkably better! It's like she pushed the reset button on me! ;)

She's also smart, practical, wise, intuitive, and oh so gentle. Andrea really understands the interconnectedness of the body and emotions, and has great wisdom about Chinese medicine.

Her admin staff, Terrisa is a whiz with the insurance companies (they take most insurance), and handles all the paperwork, so I can go in there and really relax. She's also very attentive (despite their very busy office), and so friendly that I feel like I'm visiting friends while I'm getting treatment.

The space is awesome: right next to Artemis Cafe in SE, and it feels very wide open and snug at the same time.

I'm so sorry I waited so long for this.

I can't recommend Singing Bird Acupuncture more highly to you. If you want wholesome, practical, nurturing, and wise care, Singing Bird Acupuncture, is for you.  View Less

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine is changing my life. For years, I'd been keeping the idea of trying acupuncture in my back pocket, something to hold on to if I couldn't progress any further with traditional Western medical treatment for my progressive neuropathy/neuritis and other debilitating symptoms stemming from Sjogren's Syndrome. I was drawn to Andrea Fisk after noting her experience at The Chicago Institute of Neuroresearch and Neurosurgery; it gave me great hope.

I have been seeing Fisk for over 7 months now, and I have had remarkable results from a combination of acupuncture, moxibustion and Chinese herbs I take in as an herbal tea daily. I have far less pain in my feet and hands; my energy is the best it has been in years, which is saying something for a busy Mom. I was able to work in my local school district this year, and recently became a Zumba fitness instructor, something I didn't think was possible.

If you are looking for an Acupuncturist to partner with, I couldn't recommend Singing Bird Acupuncture more. I have referred many friends to Andrea, and she has treated my kids for insomnia and digestive problems as well. She is kind, thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable.  View Less

Overcoming Medical Fear. Like many people I was fearful of treatments that involved putting needles in me and I was skeptical that it could treat an ailment that I'd suffered from for years. After going to Andrea my feelings changed and her perseverance coupled with skilled application of herbs and acupuncture have radically improved my health. I would recommend her to anyone wishing to avoid conventional pill dispensing doctors who show little empathy and virtually none of her compassion towards your suffering.  View Less View More

Healing for the whole family. What makes Andrea a great healer is not only that she is very knowledgable about acupuncture, massage and herbs, but she also has a wonderfully soothing personality. I took both my kids to her - one for insomnia and one for chronic ear infections. They both related to Andrea right away and were very comfortable with the therapy. My older son has had terrible trouble falling asleep for years, and we've tried so many things. Andrea taught us a guided meditation and a massage that we've done every night for the last 6 months and he now falls asleep in about 15 minutes. It's such a relief, both to him and us. As for my younger son and also myself, we have both seen Andrea for chronic sinusitis and ear infections and the acupuncture, herbs and acupressure helped us stay off the antibiotics. I would recommend Andrea highly!  View Less View More

Wonderful for the Entire Family. I took my infant daughter to Andrea to work on some gross motor delay issues. Andrea assessed her hypotonia, and started her with infant massage and a custom blend of herbs. Within weeks of the therapy (along with traditional physical therapy), Riley went from a baby who wasn't even rolling over to one who could get herself into a seated position and crawl. She's now working on pulling up to stand, and we are encouraged that Singing Bird played no small part in her development.

Andrea was so attentive and thoughtful with Riley, going above and beyond the call of duty to follow up on her therapy. I would highly recommend her services to compliment any healthcare regime you are following.  View Less
