Reliance Painting & Renovation

Terrible experience!. My experience with Reliance Painting was absolutely terrible all around, from the quality of workmanship to the rude and bullying treatment from owner, Billy McPhee. We hired Reliance Painting to do a fairly large interior residential painting project and the quality of the work was very poor. When asked to do touch up to remedy some of the flaws, Billy was hostile and condescending and refused to take any responsibility for his own workmanship, rather blaming everything from us to the age of our home to issues with his equipment. He did ultimately do a portion of the final touch up, but was extremely rude and made me very uncomfortable in my own home. Paint was peeling, chipped, and there was a large amount of overspray onto wall surfaces that we ultimately ended up repairing on our own simply to save ourselves the hassle of dealing with Billy. Additionally, Billy suggested several cheap upgrades, failing to mention that the price was conditioned upon him not doing the proper prep work, thereby creating considerable work for us when we had to clean up the mess we paid him extra to make! Billy left our home a mess after work was completed, and was only friendly when asking for money.

Speaking of money, once he gets it, he runs. We noticed some fairly big issues with unpainted surfaces and spray / damage to new appliances, etc. after payment had been made and when we contacted Billy to try to remedy these issues, he was unwilling to even respond.

Overall, we could have done the work better by ourselves and for much less money, much less hassle, and much less damage to surrounding surfaces. WE care about the quality of work in our home; Mr McPhee only cares whether our check cleared.
