Great place to watch the game and they grind all their own burgers from top sirloin. There's a ping pong table, ample tvs and enough space to bring several friends without feeling crowded. Awesome outdoor seating and nice bartenders.Nothing I hate more when walking into a sportsbar than having the 'i'm sports-holier-than-thou' attitude. I'd watch a game here anyday.
Hobnob is a great little local spot in the heart of the thriving Belmont district. Great Happy Hour menu, even better drink menu and their burgers are to die for! Not too many places you can go now where the restaurant grinds their own meat for the burgers!
Staff is friendly and funny and it's always an entertaining time!
DONT WORK HERE.
I just quit working here after two weeks. I found the owner, Jason, an entitelist. He continued to pocket my tips in the name of training while he was scheduling me on busy shifts, filling a slot when he would have to have a full staff. I wasnt "shadowing" anyone or being tought anything. when i asked when my "training" would be over and i would be allowed to keep my tips he gave vauge answeres and kept my money again. After friday night when we sold several thousand in boose and food, bringing in more then $500 in gratuity (which he kept after giving me $80 of that), it was clear this job was not how it had been presented in my interview.
I assure you as we worked that night alone together, he DID NOT work 4 times harder then me.
Other staff have shared with me that this is an on going issue here.
That he often "fogets" about tip share. They have allowed it cause, "at least they have a job".
Everyone there has only been there for a few months at best.
Seems greedy to me that this man not only profits on everything being sold in his venue but also keeps much more then a fair portion of gratuity given in good faith by his customers.
I suggest you dont make this man any richer buy patronizing his venue.
I also STRONGLY suggest you dont work for him!
Ive been in this business for 12 years and have never seen this.
This is a tiny blip on my radar, but I felt the need to put it out there for others who might look for a job here. If they are like me, they look at online listings about the business they are applying at.
Great Happy Hour.
I am just beginning my exploration of Hobnob Grille, but so far I love it! I tend to go on Wednesdays when they have an all-day happy hour, which means FANTASTIC $2 beers of tap and some really yummy food. Plus, there is a pingpong table for your enjoyment.
Hobnob is super relaxed inside, but really clean - not grungy or dive-y at all. I think my next visit there will be for brunch. I just read something about a passionfruit mimosa!
This place is bombtastic!. I live in the Belmont neighborhood and have been coming to Hobnob for about a year and a half. Jason, the owner, is super nice, not to mention, HILARIOUS! I am usually there alone for an after work 'refreshment', and all of the bartenders are super great. I have also recently discovered they have the BEST burgers ever, the Farmers Stack is my fav, it's a bit spendy, but worth every penny! Happy hour food is a steal, and $2 mimosas with breakfast on weekends isn't anything to sneer at! Even after a year and a half, I still get the same great service I always have, and I have made some new friends. Thanks guys, you rock!

We found this place in Nov of 09 and then left for the East
Coast for 6 months...we returned last week and revisited the Hobnob tonight. If anything it's gotten better. We had a wonderful salad, a fabulous burger, heard a joke and received wonderful service. Oh did I forget to mention that we also had a couple glasses of wine and the check was under 50 bucks! Sign me up....my only complaint is that the Hobnob grille is not in walking distance of my condo!
The *best* veggie burger in town!.
This place is THE BEST!
We stumbled upon Hobnob Grille a few weeks ago, and have been back every weekend ever since. The first time we went, there were a couple of veggie options on the menu. Now, not only are there a TON of vegetarian options on the menu, but Hobnob has developed the BEST veggie burger that I've ever eaten before - in my life! I thought the art of the homemade veggie burger died when Stanfords sold out, but Hobnob did them one and took it to a whole new level. And not just the veggie burger; pair it with the vegan (think it's vegan - may be veggie) chili and you have the most AWESOME meal.
We've never had a bad meal there in our months of going there. Jason and Brian are the best bartenders; give them an idea and they know what to fix for you. The kitchen sends out delicious foods; if you like onion rings, Hobnob in the place to go! I've never had their equal. Oh - and the fried Avocado and Zucchini? Damn, but it's delicious!
On the non-veggie side, my partner loves the ribs and the fried chicken, just to name two. The sirloin and the fish and chips are to die for as well.
I only have one thing slightly bad to say, and that is that Hobnob doesn't have Mac & Jacks African Amber. Bur when you have so many other delicious libations, it truly isn't missed from the menu!
I cannot give this place enough praise. You need to go there. Now!
Brunch from heaven.
This place is like a delicious oasis of creative and awesome food. Everything I've had there has been wonderful. Everything.
Burgers are amazing, best bacon I've had in a long time, really awesome drinks of varying sorts (local a lot of the time, and creative and really well done).
Dude, if we were in NYC you'd have to make reservations for a place like this.
Quick, you have to visit before this place gets too busy to get into. Seriously affordable gourmet norhtwest pub food. I've been to every restaurant in this spot in the last 10 years, and this is my hands down favorite. That favoriteness extends in may directions and across town.
Ok, I'm going to go eat brunch there now.
I am so excited to have their potato cakes (called rosti) and the passionfruit mimosa. Oh my god!

PS the happy hour is insanely good! Food and drinks that are really good, high quality, local, creative, and CHEAP.
Expert Burger Review. I have eaten thousands of cheeseburgers all over the world, and I consider myself to be an expert in the field. Hobnob's offering has great potential but needs some minor tweaks. I ordered my burger for take out, and I specified medium, some pink. The burger is served on a toasted bun with a tomato slice and a few leaves of greens, far too few for my taste. The burger is not dressed with any type of sauce. The patty was outstanding, very thick, superbly cooked. The meat was highly seasoned, even more so than the Slow Bar, and unfortunately over-salted. The bun was rich, chewy, and the perfect size. The side was unremarkable hand-cut potato chips with somewhat pretentious and impractical dips (very thick chipotle cream cheese, some type of spiced fruit mince). I was most impressed with the fantastic coarse grind of Hobnob's meat. It is worth eating just to experience what the right grind can do in the hands of a good grill man. This burger has a ton of potential, and I will be eating it again.
Terrific Brunch!. We stopped in for brunch on Saturday and enjoyed the meal very much. The atmosphere was very comfortable and stylish. The space is very open with nice windows for people watching, large booths and plenty of bar seating. We tried the bisquits & gravy with eggs and the spinach, sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese frittatta. Both were very good. Also tried the Bloody Marys on a recommendation and they were the best we've had in a long time. We'll definitely be back to try dinner soon.
