Exceptional food, wonderful wine list. We went with two friends. Right out of the gate, the service was stellar. We ordered 3 appetizers, calamari, ahi tuna tartare and the charcuterie plate. All superb. As for salads, a butter lettuce salad was delicate and fresh, my beet/pear salad was something I wish I could have at least once a week. One friend had the Simple salad and voiced much satisfaction. My husband had the lobster raviolli and I had the butternut squash raviolli. Our dinner mates chose the lobster ravioli and the beef tenderloin. All meals were top of the line. We ordered two bottles of wine during the meal. The selection is impressive. They also have a good selection of ports. We'll be back in the near future.

Orgasmic Lunch in the Pearl. After wandering about playinig tourists in our home town, we came upon a simply decorated, wooden plank floored divine little place on the corner. Large windows meant lots of natural light, interior was warm and spare.

I ordered a vegetarian dish - the lunch portion of Roasted Asparagus with Polenta and summer squash. The plating of the dish was truly elegant and the flavors were divine. The romesco sauce was a perfect foil to the light as air polenta, lovely tiny asparagus spears, and mixed squash. I was blown away. Truly a memorable lunch that we just stumbled upon. Will definitely return.....soon!!!!!!!!!

One of my Favorites. Serratto has long been one of my favorite Portland spots, both for Happy Hour and Dinner. The atmosphere is pleasant both outside and inside, especially on a raised lounge above the bar. For Happy Hour, the cheeseburger, the onion soup, the fries, and the salads are great, though the burger can be salty for some. For dinner, the tenderloin, the chicken, and the pork are all delicious. I have had nothing but great service. Highly recommended.

Fine Dining in a Relaxed Atmosphere. A breezy casual but nicely/simply decorated restaurant makes enjoying your meal and friends very easy. The staff is friendly, and are very responsive to requests.

The meal starts with crusty bread with olive oil. We asked for butter as well. Coffee is good quality in a largish cup. We settled on the beet salad, with pears, goat cheese, mixed mini-greens, and vinagrette. Very nice and refreshing (although I avoided the goat cheese). I had halibut on a bed of broad beans with a nice tomato/herb sauce topped by sliced fennel (I think). My daughter had "spaghetti", really a sophisticated version of the dish. Pasta with greens, asparagus, sliced cherry tomato, and grana paddano cheese. A shared dessert of blueberry shortcake with chantilly cream was a nice ending for this delicious meal.

Overall the atmosphere, service, food quality all add up to 5 stars. Can't really think of a way to improved this place. The prices are reasonable for the location and experience. Give it a try if you enjoy fine food in a relaxed, but still special environment.

Fantastic Happy Hour. Visited for my first time to Serratto's happy hour and was very satisfied. I started with the french onion soup which had great flavor. My friend and I shared the hamburger/fries and prawns. They have unique selections for a happy hour menu mixed with some good stand-bys and even those have a different twist.(hamburger was really good, delicious sauce) The atmosphere was relaxed yet contemporary, will definitely be back!

Decent food, Inconsistent Service. Normally I would rate this restaurant as high as five stars, however my experience this evening was not the best. I am not what you would call a regular, however I do eat there once or twice a month. Every time I have gone I start with the french onion soup, which is usually absolutely amazing. However this evening it was unusually thick and had a very potent taste of recently added wine. The soup as a whole was lukewarm, so I sent it back to the kitchen.

Rather then asking me whether or not I was pleased with the dish the waitress simply grabbed it off the table and left before I had a chance to say anything. Throughout the night this same waitress only stopped by the table once, leaving the other members of the wait staff to tend to the party I was in.

At the end of the night when the bill was brought to me the waitress still tried to charge me for the soup, I asked if it was customary to charge for dishes which were sent back to the kitchen. She told me that she did not consider it sent back as I had not said anything to her explicitly about the dish, and that was why I was being charged. At which point she grabbed the ticket from my hand and said "we won't charge you for the soup" and very rudely walked away.

This was one of the nights where the experience as a whole was not what I am used to from this fine restaurant, and had I not dined here multiple times before and this were my first visit I would not be returning. I hope this does not become a regular event when I am dining there.

Mean people. Very mean service; rude and disrespectful. I went their for my birthday and they ruined it. I would never give my money to them again.

pizza. Perfect pizza, great wine list, great bartender and servers. The pizza was better than K__'s Artisan!!!! We were there at 3:30.....perfect for two people just out for a snack and wine on a Friday afternoon. Forgot to say....on other days, we have had the most perfect french fries. Outside tables if you want!!!

Soul-soothing Italian cuisine in a cozy space that hums with energy.. In Short
Wood-beamed ceilings soar above the refined yet rustic trattoria that offers various mood-matching environ. There's the casual Vineria for a drink and appetizer or the dining room with white-clothed tables and leather armchairs. Fresh ingredients are the trademark of its dishes, such as cauliflower soup with pancetta and truffle oil and crunchy white beans with tuna, red onion, spinach and oregano. House-made pasta like fettuccini comes with prawns, pancetta and fennel in white wine cream sauce.

Outstanding food, service & ambience. This place is truly excellent. I don't know how I spent so many years eating at Bluehour, Paley's Place and other established PDX favorites without trying Serratto. My partner and I are self-proclaimed foodies, having eaten all over PDX, the US, and the world. We have now been to Serratto three times - just the two of us, with another couple, and in a group - and every time it has been a great dining experience. Every time has been a different experience, but always a great one. It's as if Serratto scans your mood on the way in the door, and then has this chameleon-like ability to adapt to it.

The halibut, which a friend ordered and loved, was the least fishy I have ever eaten in my life. I don't love fish, but I would definitely order that dish again. Same for the tuna appetizer, which they pushed hard one night - it didn't sound great to me, but it was amazing, and seemed like a bargain compared to the cost of that much tuna at a sushi restaurant. Another thing is that they offer pastas in half orders, which allowed us to try more flavors and not get full - the waiter said it was so that we could eat pasta as a first course like in Italy. We said "hear that, honey" because that was our favorite part of traveling Italy. Last but not least, the homemode gelato is delicious. Supposedly the dessert chef used to work at Papa Hayden, which everybody in town knows is THE place for dessert. Apart from the food, the place looks beautiful, everybody is smiling, there are fresh cut flowers, the lighting is just right, etc. It's the little things that convince us that Serratto gets it.

Last but not least, we heard they just started serving brunch and that it is not busy yet, so we plan to try that next - especially since we were told we could get a free mimosa. Enough said, see you Sunday!
