45.486964 -122.806371I just had the most awesome experience: Customer service. Imagine. I took three rings in to be sized and I left realizing what is missing in most retail transactions these days--a human connection. Not only did the jeweler give me good advice on my pieces, the pricing was so fair I almost wanted to tell them to add a little more on. Had I gone to one of the big retail jewelers, I know they would have charged me twice as much, if not more, and who knows what kind of work they would have done? It's refreshing and assuring to know that talented and honest people are still out there, with a family owned store, doing great work. Please take your business here. You'll be happy with the result and the prices.
inner and outer beauty. I dropped in at A’kasha a while ago to ask a quick question about turning a pendant into a ring, and ended up spending an enjoyable hour and a half talking with Steven, who is not only a genuinely good and caring person, but a fantastic and enthusiastic artist as well. On a practical level, I was happy about the surprisingly affordable price of the work I was asking about; on a human level, I was really touched by the extent to which he cares about the people he creates for. I’ve never heard of a jeweler/therapist, but if there were such a thing, Steven would be it, not just for people celebrating happy occasions but for people who need stones reset after a divorce or after a death, in a way that’s more creative than just reshaping a piece into something else; he showed me pictures of pieces that were not just beautiful but full of personal meaning. (He told me some pretty funny stories about post-divorce creations, too!) This is most definitely not a run-of-the-mill jewelry store; this is the place to go if you want something absolutely unique and designed specifically for the inner you.
