For $5 you can get 2 sliders, with a choice between BBQ pulled pork, falafel, or grinder. On Monday sliders are only $1 during happy hour.
HH starts at 2 and goes till closing with over 20 items not over $6. Suitable for kids. Comfy interior and sidewalk seating. Good service
Wonderful food and service.
Could it get better than the ample vegetarian choices, the delicious food (try the falafel sliders! the grilled cheese! all salads!) and the friendly service in a charming space? Why yes, it just did, because Melt has added a weekend brunch. Now you don't have to sit in Moomoo's half a day waiting for the snail-like service or deal with the unpredictably uneven food and service at Papa Hayden's or Besaw's, if you want a good brunch in the neighborhood. Everything is fresh and superbly cooked so far as I could tell by watching the happiness of my fellow brunchers. My veggie scramble was light, fluffy and yummy. The potatoes with it were great. The scone was terrific. The food here tends to be light, as in not greasy or heavy, but you get plenty of it. I may have to fall off the veggie wagon for the incredible looking chicken waffle. The woman eating it seemed blissed out!
Sadly, the new ownership has made all this obsolete. The grilled cheese is now greasy and limp instead of crispy with a creamy interior, and it features a mild, tasteless cheddar instead of the sharp one of before, the bread is awful now, and the tomato soup tastes of overcooked basil. Simple food must start with great ingredients and be cooked with care. That's the way Melt used to be, but no more.
AWESOME HAPPY HOUR!!!!.
I absolutely love this place and so does everyone that I take! Their happy hour is now all day everyday!!! Woo hoo! Some of my friends have kids so the fact we can take them there (we haven't yet and I rarely ever see kids there) if need be is great.
The falafel sliders are delicious, the parmesan fries are delightful, veggie egg rolls are fantastic and my girlfriend loved the crab dip. I think you can pass on the eggplant salad, not a big favorite and the choc cake was too dry.
The drinks are great, good amt of reduced ones on the HH menu and they are not weak, lemme tell ya. ;) Just the way I like it!
Definitely recommend this place.
what a nice surprise on 21st for relaxed fare. we heard about melt through a family member so decided to try it out last saturday for happy hour. met some friends and the first thing we both said was "how far away did you park"? we showed up 4:30 on saturday and there was only a couple of other groups of 4 there. we ordered off the happy hour menu and had the crab dip, the mushroom bruschetta, and then some small sandwiches which i'll call sliders. had the pulled pork, and the pot roast and they were great. actually for the 4 of us with a couple of apptzrs a glass of wine each the sliders it was about $15 per person for really tasty snacks and the sliders. we did observe another two people come in and order the full sized pulled pork sandwiches and they were raving about how good they were. we'll definitely be back but maybe taking public transportation.
