Want the BEST? Here it is!!!!. This is absolutely the best tattoo shop in the NW. It's what I imaging the 1st shops were like in the old days. Go in point at some of the hand painted flash on the wall and get it done then. No waiting months out to get a great tattoo. If it is not on the wall go in with an idea and let them make it 10 times better than you imagined. I went in with an idea of what I wanted and before I knew it I had an absolutely beautiful Japanese Sleeve by Thomas Morgan. I couldn't have asked for anything better. I recommend this shop to everyone. And believe me I get tons of compliments on my tattoo and everyone wants to know where to go. You will not be disappointed.
My first tattoo!.
I have been thinking about a tattoo for a long time. 12 months ago, my brother was killed in a plane crash, and I felt strongly that I wanted to have something permanent that was also meaningful to me, tattooed. For months I kept drawing a symbol on my wrist trying to get it right. I'm over here in the US on holiday from Australia, and my friend and I decided to hell with it, let's go! The reviews were excellent, so we walked in and got our first ink together.
I have a sword surrounded by a circle which was done by Jesse Bob - a nice simple starter tattoo. Hurt like a bi*ch for a bit, but it was fine.
The shop is clean, professionally run, and you walk out of there feeling so strong and confident. My friend and I now have a permanent ink-link and we are part of the Club now. Don't be afraid, just be sure of what you want, and take the plunge. These guys drew up our requests and they were perfect - better than I imagined. I am such a control freak I was scared the job wouldn't be great but it exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend that if you are considering a tattoo, go there, talk to the guys. You won't regret it, and at the very least, you can get information you need about it - they are extremely professional and skilled in their craft.
***** talented tattooers******.
I have been tattooed here a few times, and unlike most shops I've been to this one is well lit, and has original hand painted flash on the walls. Nicest shop I've ever seen!
My tattoos are high quality and distinguishable from other work I've seen walking around Portland. My tattooer was Exotic Jim and he was not only very personable and humorous, but good at what he does. Talented is the least I could say about all of the guys that work down there. I am very satisfied and will only be coming back to this shop. Getting tattooed anywhere else is throwing your money away.
And to the bad mouthing guy above this, good tattoos aint' cheap, and cheap tattoos aint good. You probably have a bunch of garbage tattoos, that you paid next to nothing for, advice: your girlfriend has a better tattoo than all of your junk. You obviously were okay with paying the price at the time, get your panties out of a bunch, one dollar baller!
Lovin this shop!!!.
Looked like a gentlemens' poker room...rich woods & antiques, the men in spats & spenders.
Each man's station is a rolltop desk.......too cool!
While our man drew up what we wanted (yup custom) I hear 'you wanna see a magic trick'. If you've been downtown before you know not to answer this...but he asks again & I say okay. No .....this guy didn't just pull a quarter from behind my ear we are talking Vegas stuff, they had their own MAGIAN! Way too cool!
DO NOT GO HERE HORRIBLE TATTOO.
i took my girlfriend in for her first tattoo on a whim. we were in portland and saw this place. i asked him how much just for 3 little hearts i ensured my girlfriend its really hard to mess up 3 hearts even a beginer artist should be able to do that.... well i was wrong...
i dont know the name of the guy but he was tall hispanic guy and man it was horrible. the hearts look like a child drew them the lines are jagged and not sharp at all. they arent even round on the main parts and not only that the red inside them is horribly done, theres like 10% negative space where red is missing. it is just a horrible tattoo and not only that the guy charged us 80 dollars minumum !!!!!!!! she told me later she saw that some tattoos bigger on there charts were 50 only so i dont know how this guy charged us 80. it was a bad bad mistake to go there, i dont even want to go back to have him fix it or touch it up his lines are garbage and his work is garbage. and overpriced. do not go here. please not even for a simple tattoo
I have spoken to my artist about the tattoo that you are referring to and he has assured me that he showed you the design, that you approved the design, and then you approved the final tattoo. If you wanted something changed on the tattoo we would have been happy to change it for you at the time. If you are unhappy, we do all touch ups free of charge. As far as the lines being jagged, we do not have an artist that would do a poor design. If you are somehow reluctant to use the same artist, who is perfectly capable and happy to make any touch ups, any one of our 4 artists would be happy to assist you. As far as the price, we have a $60 minimum on all of our tattoo's, but you and the artist both agreed that the tattoo was worth $80. We regret that you had any sort of negative experience at our shop, we pride ourselves on our artwork, customer service and professionalism. Please come see us again and we will be sure you leave happy. Thank you. Linn Holdhusen, Owner
The best of Portland.
The gentleman of the shop are so entertaining.
The shop is clean, comfortable, and very easy on the eyes.
I have had my work done by Davey James. He has never left me disappointed! Amazing use of color and creativity. Giving me the direction I need and definitely a fair price on all of it.
