Will not be using DAYD again!!!.
My wife and I had been looking for a service such as this. So when I came across a Groupon we thought why not give them a try. The deal was for 2 meals.
The first meal (Shepards Pie) was not a hit with my family. It was small, bland and had way too much polenta. At this point, we're all hoping the 2nd meal is much better.
The 2nd meal was supposed to be a chicken gumbo, but instead I was given another order of the Shepards Pie. Great. So I called DAYD, and when I asked if they would replace the meal I received with the one that I ordered I was told that that would be out of the question. So here I am with another meal that none of us likes.
Now, I'm sure that DAYD makes very little profit (if any) by honoring Groupon's but you would think it makes sense, from a business perspective, to go out of your way to make things right for your cusomer when/if you had make a mistake with the order? Had DAYD offered to make this right I most likely would have given their dishes another chance. Not gonna happen. Maybe I'm missing out on some dishes that are pretty good but I don't think anyone should be treated like that.
Personal opinion:
Terrible customer service, mediocre
food quality (see rcn3783 review above), small portions and expensive compared to other services of this type.
Not worth a 4 month wait!. I bought a Groupon for Dinner at your Door last fall. When I logged on to use the Groupon, thinking I'd have dinner the following week, I was astounded to see that I had to wait four months for the dinners to be delivered! Finally, after a four month wait, dinner was delivered. The meal consisted of a soupy green verde sauce with some beans and a few onions, dry lettuce with a flavorless dressing, and some burnt cauliflower. There was also one tangerine (I guess two people are supposed to share one piece of fruit?), and two tiny little bite sized cookies. I wasn't sure what to do with the soupy green entree. I ended up just throwing it out. I wrote an email to the company about my un-edible entree, and never received any kind of response. I find that to be horrible customer service. My 2nd meal came yesterday. I'm pretty sure it was not what I ordered. I am a vegetarian, and I received a turkey shephard's pie. Ok, so again, I had to throw out the entree. The green beans were nearly raw, and it was the same flavorless salad as the week before. I could have stopped by New Seasons on my way home from work and had a much more convenient and satisfying meal. I will never use this company again. Horrible food and even worse customer service.
Amazing Hostess.. I had worked with Margot in different facets during her time living in Chicago. She is a thorough planner and has an amazing attitude toward everything she does. She is a very determined person and eager to please. This venture is a brilliant application for Margot's vast food knowledge combined with her charisma. She is lovely, and can't wait to get to Portland so I can order some myself!
Healthy, well prepared dinner and I didn't have to cook!.
I have been a Dinner at Your Door customer for the past several months and can say that I look forward to every Wednesday.
No cooking or preparing and then I get to eat a great home-cooked meal! Yum....
homemade. healthy. convenient. Providing busy people (families, professionals, empty nesters) one less meal to worry about during the week. An order of Dinner At Your Door includes an entree, salad, side and dessert and arrives fully cooked in re-usable glassware. Four days later the re-usable glassware is picked up so the following weeks meal can be prepared. Meals focus on using fresh, seasonal, organic and healthy ingredients.
