After going to several bridal stores in town and not having found my dress I decide to stop buy at Sophie chang Inc. The location was central and accessible, from downtown Portland.I did not made an appointment, lucky for me there was an opening and I meet the designer Sophie chang and her assistant Kristina, the shop looked elegant modern clean and organize, they only carry gowns and bridesmaids dresses. Sophie and Kristina were so caring sweet and patient as they helped me, figuring out what I wanted in my dress. Sophie’s gowns are beautiful and one of a kind design.it was my first time in the store i find out Sophie design all her gowns; she gave me several choice to start up. They have 2 lines to pick from one line is 100%, made in Oregon, that made me very happy because i support local. She also suggested custom design if i could not find anything from their samples, and a free sketch. Although their gowns started at about a thousand and go to about four thousand my budget set around 2000$ I had lots of choices, and selecting a good grade of silk for my wedding gown, was very important I want to look good, on my wedding day. This was December 2012, after spent about 2 hours with Sophie I realize she is very detailed oriented and wanted to make sure I find the perfect gown for my wedding day. We began trying out about seven gowns and finally I found the perfect dress for me.Sophie was super friendly and helpful, listen to what I wanted gave all her attention and the time I needed to pick my dress, the dress that I fell in love with was slightly more than my budget, I did not mind I appreciated she wanted my business. I had bad experiences elsewhere and this place was a breath of fresh air. This little bridal shop was absolutely one of the best customer services experiences I have ever had.

Sophie and Kristina made me feel very special, and they were very honest with me not like some other boutiques rush me into something I did not like it. after spending few hours in the store

It was time to make decision. I order the dress right away and my search was finally over .Sophie told me the dress will be ready in about four months and like promise the dress arrived ready for my first fitting. The very next day I went in for my first fitting

The dress was gorgeous and fitted like a glove.

There was only one issue around the bust was slightly bigger maybe because I lost few pounds, Sophie suggested I should use a different bra or we could do small alteration, after two more fittings everything worked out fine, I pick up my dress steamed and bagged ready to wear. I am so happy I stop by this boutique

They were so helpful and very professional during the entire process; I would definitely recommend this boutique to any bride to be.

I came there after looking at a few other places...and it was a dream come true. Sophie and her assistant were extremely courteous, they knew exactly what I was talking about, and they had it!

I loved how all the gowns have in-built support so I don't have to waste money on undergarments. The detailing was amazing...unique styling, beautiful.

The most important part is how they treated me...I am super self- conscious, but when I put on "the dress", I felt beautiful. Everything I wanted and more! I absolutely recommend this store.

Best Bridal Experience ever! Sophie is a jewel! I couldn't believe that I could find couture-inspired wedding gown design locally. We are super lucky to have such amazing talent in the Portland area.

One word sums up my experience- AWFUL! Worst experience ever! The owner was more worried about her floor getting wet then finding me a wedding dress. The dressing rooms "bench" was broken along with the door, nice way to make you feel special, a true indication of how couture this shop is. They have a horrible dress selection, nothing unique or couture. Do not shop here, it is a huge waste of time!

High Quality Wedding Gowns and Experience. I have never purchased Sophie's gown yet, but every time I go to her boutique and browse all kinds of dresses, I know I am going to choose her dress for my special occasion dress.

All the dresses are designed to fit sophisticated and fashionable modern women.

I'm sure you can find dress that you feel that is only-one kind.

Rude and Insulting!. I went into Sophie Bridal after a few trips to other stores. I knew what I wanted, and I didnt need someone to tell me what to buy. I guess because I am Chinese, the owner thought I would automatically buy a dress from her. I am Chinese-AMERICAN. My parents and grandparents speak Chinese, I don't. She immediately started speaking to me in Chinese, which I found insulting. The entire time I was in her store, she kept addressing my parents in Chinese, and totally left me out of the conversation.

As if that wasn't bad enough, Sophie insulted my taste in fashion with her remarks about a dress I found downtown. Since when is a $4000 silk dress "cheap and tacky"? She even referenced a review of her store by a so-called "beauty queen" talking about how she had been everywhere in Portland and everything was sub standard (except Sophie Bridal, of course). I am now convinced that Sophie wrote it herself.

This place is nothing to brag to your friends about. There is nothing as far as selection, and even though she calls her dresses "custom designed", I have seen the exact same ones online. Skip this shop!

Awesome Bridal Gowns!. I am from Portland originally, but live in LA now. I got engaged in Feb 2010 and wanted to look for wedding gowns with my mom while I was visiting Portland. I honestly wasnt expecting to buy a dress on the trip. I went to literally every popular wedding gown shop in Portland and the surrounding areas and found the quality to be very cheap, the styles very common and the service average. When I stopped at Sophie Bridal Couture, I fell in love with the first two dressed I tried, so they created a custom gown for me using elements I liked from both dresses. I got a sketch of my dream gown, got to make adjustments and just picked it up today. It is EXACTLY what I wanted. It is a one of kind gown, great quality materials and construction. Sophie and her staff are amazing. They were so helpful and made me feel so special every time I came in. Sophie even made special arrangements to bring me my dress on Christmas Eve even though they were closed because she knew I wouldnt be in town again for several months. Awesome shop. Highly reccomend!!

Fabulous customer service and beautiful dresses!. I had ordered a bridesmaid dress off the internet for my best friends wedding @ the end of June. When I called to check the status, the order had never been placed! I was frantic to find a dress in 4 weeks! I remember seeing Sophie Bridal Couture in the Tanasbourne area, I stopped in to see if they could help... Sophie was just the best! She was friendly and helpful and helped me pick the most beautiful dress! She was able to get it to me in 3 weeks! I wish that Sophie had been around when I had gotten married 7 years ago! I recommend her to anyone for a wonderful bridal experience!

Lovely Bridal Boutique. I had a wonderful experience at this bridal boutique. I can't wait til my dress comes in. The dresses are so beautiful and unique. The designer was very helpful and friendly. The prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality and service you get. If you're looking for a dress that is unlike any other, visit this boutique!
