I didn't have Crystal, unfortunately. I did have Jen. I should state that I've received 2 massages a month for the past several years due to health issues, and I've been to chains, independents, chiropractic massages offices, etc, so my opinion bears some weight. My appt was from 12-1, and I arrived early to fill out any intake paperwork I may have been given -- there wasn't any. EVERY office I have been to has had some basic paperwork; how will they know anything about you and your needs otherwise? At 1215, Jen was still in her room scheduling her next appt with her last client. If you are a professional, you make sure you allot time in-between clients for things like this, otherwise you get thrown off every subsequent appointment. Her client left her room, and literally one minute passes, and she invites me to lay on the table -- she did not change the sheets, only made the bed. Seriously?! People lay naked sometimes -- I do -- and that is a serious bacteria issue. Right before she came in after leaving the room to let me undress looked at the clock: 12:23. When she came in, I was face down and asked her what time it was (as I knew we got started late and I wanted to keep track of how long my one-hour massage was going to be). "12:15", she states. Oh, really? I asked her to spend the majority of the time on my back in between my shoulder blades. She spent the majority of her time ONE HANDED rubbing my mid and lower back. I asked her to use broad strokes on my legs, as I do not like deep tissue there. What does she do? You guessed it -- deep tissue on my legs! Now, I'm not sure if the girl was hard of hearing or what, but starting late is bad enough...all of the rest of that in addition made me leave without tipping -- and I didn't feel bad for a second. I will NOT be back there and ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND JEN.

Best Ever. Crystal was not only professional, but personable. The atmosphere was relaxed and calming.

The massage itself was amazing--WAY more than i expected. I've had several traditional massages which were great, but this type of massage was incredible. This will be my yearly gift to myself.

Thank You Crystal. It is rare that I give the highest score for a review. About 8 months ago I had an accident riding my bike and fractured my L1 vertebrae and did some muscle damage. I am also a runner and I was not able to run or do much for that matter. I had severe pain in the muscles in my lower back. A friend told me about Crystal and 5 months after my injury I went to see her. After a few sessions of Ashiatsu Deep Tissue Massage Therapy my pain is greatly reduced and I am running again. It's amazing how she finds where the problem areas are just by feel. Thanks to Crystal, I am able to run and ride mountain bikes again and I continue to get better.

Simply the BEST!. I have been to many good massage therapists over the years, but Crystal and her ashiatsu is simply the BEST! Indescribably awesome, totally one of a kind, a must to experience. She intuitively knows where the hot spots are and gets right in there until the hot spots goes away. You will not be disappointed...and you will want to go back for more...guaranteed!

Incredible. I have been receiving weekly massages for over 30 years and have experienced many different therapist. and styles. But nothing like this! Pura Vida was recommeneded to me by a friend for several months but I was reluctant to change as I was happy where i was. When I finally gave in to the pressure and tried Pura Vida I realized what I had been missing. This massage and the technique are exactly what I need to keep my body functioning and pain free. I am a golfer and suffer from shoulder and back issues. With weekly attention from Pura Vida I am well and feeling great. I highly recommend this service and can attest that it will be your favorite as well.

Best massage in Portland. I was skeptical at first, I couldn't imagine someone giving a massage with their bare feet! It's called Ashiatsu, and yes it is incredible and wonderful. I had a deep tissue massage for a muscle spasm in my upper back. Since my massage the pain and the spasm are both gone. I was so relaxed after my massage that I didn't want to get off the table. There is no way I can go back to regular massage ever again.

Crystal’s massage service is world-class and I highly recommend it.

Amazing Technique. 2 years ago I injured my back playing golf. I tried medications, Chiropractic, physical therapy and even had a Neurosurgeon look at an MRI and x-rays. In the end the most effective relief has been Ashiatsu deep tissue massage with Crystal at Pura Vida. She is the reason I am back playing. She is simply the best

The Best Masseuse in Town!. In my opinion, Crystal Chase of Pura Vida Massage & Wellness is a little taste of heaven. I have been fortunate enough to get massages from Crystal for the past two years. My assistant gave me Crystal’s contact information about three years ago. Crystal’s technique and style in massage therapy goes above and beyond your ordinary massage especially the barefoot Ashiatsu. There is no other deep tissue massage in comparison.

Best massage around!. Crystal is very good at what she does and has a great understanding of the body. Yesterday I went in with some very sore muscles in my back. Last night was the first night in a week that I could sleep undisturbed by the pain. Today I feel great!

I have nothing but good things to say about her. Highly recommended.
