Lianne is Wonderful, Amazing Salon experience. Every time I go in to see Lianne, I leave LOVING my hair. She is cute and friendly, but also a very skilled stylist. I have very thick and annoying hair but she cuts and styles it in a way that makes it manageable, and it's something I can re-create at home. Your stylist should be someone you look forward to seeing and spending time with-- that's how I feel when I have an appointment with Lianne. It's been hard to find in Portland, so I'm so glad I started trusting Lianne with my hair. You should too- you will not regret it. And Valerium is an amazing salon, it's classy and beautiful, but comfortable.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome. I went to Alisha at Valerium and had the best experience of my life (haircut wise, that is). Not only is the salon gorgeous, but my haircut turned out better than any haircut I have ever had. Hands Down! My hair is amazing, but I already can't wait to go back and get a new style next time.

Natural looking extensions. Extensions by Darcie-I loved the look! The colors were so natural and the feel was great. I had a lot of fun with them. I went from short to long and everyone who commented couldn't believe that it wasn't my real hair. It took about 1 week for my scalp to get used to them, and then they became my own hair! It was a treat I gave to myself. Thanks Darcie!

Professional, friendly salon. I have been a loyal client of Darcy's for 10 years now and have followed her to Valerium's new salon. Valerium is by the far the most professional, beautiful salon I have seen yet! I've never seen such flattering lighting!! A big issue when you are getting color/highlights and want to see the REAL color! Darcy is creative and a true beautician! I often give her free reign on my cut/color and she never disappoints, always giving a haircut that suits me, my style, my face! So many times, stylists give a cut that is trendy or that doesn't suit YOU, the client. Her hours are flexible, evening works for me, and parking is free!! The glass of wine or tea is a nice touch also. I always look forward to my appointments as a little treat to myself, pampering at its best!

Best In The City. I recently followed Alisha to Valerium Salon and all I can say is WOW! The place is amazing. It is by far the fanciest salon I have seen in the Portland area. I have to admit I was a little afraid at first that the luxurious surroundings would mean that the place was very expensive and/or snobby, but I was quickly relieved to find that nothing could be further from the truth. I had never been in before but the owner (also named Valerium) was up at the front and greeted me warmly, as if I had been coming there for years. I got my hair done by Alisha and it turned out fantastic, as always. I am definitely going to like it here.

Absolutely the best. I have been coming to Valerium for almost 5 years. I lived in Beverly Hills before and when I moved to Portland I had difficulties to finding a talented hairdresser. I am so happy that finally I found one. Valerium is very talented, creative, intelligent and professional. Not only is he one of the best in his field, he also a wonderful human being, a great listener, and a very caring person who always makes me feel special and beautiful. It?s not easy to get an appointment with him but why not wait for the best? I found his salon always immaculate, and decorated with an exceptional taste, and his staff is very friendly and pleasant. I will highly recommend Valerium for any person who is looking for the best hair cut in Portland. You will definitely appreciate his unique style, talent and warm personality.

Hip New Hair Salon in Hollywood. I've been getting my hair cut by Valerium for about 10 years. He's great and so is his new salon, bearing his name, located at 3804 NE Sandy Boulevard in Portland's Hollywood District. (He was previously located on NW 21st Ave. in Portland.) This new salon, which opened in July 2006, is beautifully designed. Other hairstylists also work at Valerium, with their own loyal clients.
