Love a quiet dinner at this cute little family-owned Greek place, where the service is always unfailingly gracious. Try the Greek salad, cheesy tyropites, Greek meatballs (recommended with an ouzo pairing), and hearty moussaka.

The lamb gyro with greek salad is a lunch fav of mine. The hummus plate and meatballs are runners up. Great location, service & prices.

Dorio. NW neighborhoodies are happy to have affordable Greek within their reach, though the ambiance lacks the opa! that diners often desire from a Greek restaurant. Dishes are Greek standards done fresh, with a few standout deals such as a Piedmontese beef burger mixed with Greek herbs and topped with Kasseri cheese ($5.50 a la carte; $8 with fries or Greek salad). In fact, the entire menu tops out at $8 and that’s saying a lot for Nob Hill. The corner location and floor-to-ceiling windows do bring in light, but décor is dark and ends up feeling more generic café than kitchen home cooking.
