What Our Expert Scouts Say

The Waypost
March 08, 2013

Remember when you were young, exploring. The Waypost is achieving the coffeeshop-as-community goal that other cafes often set, but few achieve. More than just a cafe, bar, or bistro, Waypost regularly hosts talks, including everything from political to literary, with the occasional trivia night for good measure.

Tips for The Waypost

December 14, 2012

Adorable little hipsterhotspot with good pot pies, friendly service, and a little stage.I've been in cleaner places in my life, but that's not the point. It's haightashburyhipsterheaven and I like it. Very nice outdoor seating in garden.

The Waypost. This homey Elliot coffeehouse draws neighborhood folk for breakfast, lunch and happy hour. Patrons choose from a dozen sandwiches on Dave’s Killer bread, homemade vegan soup, and giant vegan cookies by Monkeywrench. After ordering and chatting, often at length, with the barista, late 20- and 30-somethings gather on thrift stores chairs in the sunny front parlor or the large main room for work meetings, to catch up on their reading or just enjoy a cup of Stumptown. The community-focused cafe regularly hosts live music, themed discussions, garden work parties, and Saturday morning cartoon sessions.
