Tips for Jay's Mexican Bar & Grill

Just OK.
We went there on a recent night prior to a Blazer game, thought it was still Chez Jose, but we decided to try it.
Service was great, even though there was apparently only one waiter in the place. He did a great job, even though he had to literally run between tables to take care of people.
The margaritas were very good.
However, the food was unimpressive. I had the Carne Asada, which was basically a thick steak done on a flat grill and sliced thick. The whole meal had almost no spices, and was utterly forgettable. My wife had the chicken fajitas - not servered on a hot plate as usual - just a bunch of chicken and veggies served on a plate - and not very flavorful. The refried beans were gluey and inedible. You can definately find better and fresher Mexican food around Portland. Don't waste your money.
