I recently had a re:juvenate. I recently had a re:juvenate + microderm abrasion treatment from Ally at re:surface. I was thoroughly impressed. I have had facials from some of the high-fallutin' places such as Canyon Ranch and Bonneville Spa & Resort...But Ally topped them all. WOW! I was impressed by this nice young woman. Don't let the humble storefront fool you. Once I went into the treatment room, all bets were off! Ally was a knowledgeable, fluent, sincere, compassionate and truly amazing advocate for the skin = MY skin. She was straightforward, highly knowledgeable and scientific in her approach and clearly has both a lot of experience, coupled with a strong passion for her profession. At the same time, she is very gentle, soothing, and respectful. It was a wonderful experience -and improved my skin and boosted my confidence. Ally took the time to find out what my, "skin concerns" were, and proceeded to address each and every one of them --in detail. She did not hesitate to respond to my request to learn about, and understand, the skin and the treatment process. I can be quite skeptical about spa treatments, but I have to say that I found this one to be truly therapeutic. Yes, Ally Guest is a skin professional. Hands down. I highly recommend her, unless you want just another, "feel good" facial to pump up your ego and sell you a lot of products that you do not need. She makes s difference.

PS. The treatment for me was rather rigorous, so I do recommend making appointments when you don't have to be dolled up anywhere straight afterwards... I had an afternoon appt, and was glad I did! :-)

Hidden Gem. I discovered Ally of Re:surface via a groupon I bought. I bought it because it was a great deal, but I had low expectations based on the location--a room tucked away in a hair salon off Terwilliger. I've had a million facials/facial treatments by a million different Aestheticians. I have always been very skeptical and conscious of what was being done to my skin, and I have never been fully impressed. Ally KNOCKED MY SOCKS OFF with her knowledge about how the skin works, skin products, and the best treatments. She did a thorough assessment of my skin and corrected mistakes I was making with current practices and products that I was spending way too much money on. She explained these things based on science which I appreciate as a healthcare professional. Ally is very passionate about what she does and it shines through with every facial she gives. My skin has NEVER looked better after receiving treatment from her. I have seen her quite a few times now, and I literally don't even question the products she recommends for me, I just buy them because I trust her so fully (not a common practice for me). On top of it all, Ally is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. Her business is going to BOOM and I'm almost nervous to write this review as I'm afraid she'll get too big and it'll be impossible to get in with her! I could go on and on about how amazing Ally is, but I'll end with this: Ally is by far the best skin specialist in Portland, and if you go anywhere else, you are majorly missing out.

Ally is an artist. I went to Ally because I had a Groupon, but came back because of her skill and her product knowledge. I've been having facials since I was in my teens and hers is the best I've ever had.
