What Our Expert Scouts Are Saying

PaaDee
Looking for pad Thai and salad rolls? Keep walking. This is not your standard Thai. The owners call it “Thai comfort food,” and while the backless, wooden stools in the elegant, airy space aren’t exactly “comfortable,” the unusual food itself hits the spot: Thai-style omelet, cool and mushy (in a good way) eggplant salad, egg noodles with three types of pork (four if you count the broth). Much of the menu will be unfamiliar, but break out of your drunken noodles rut. Located at the former site of the long-standing notorious pick-up bar, the Hungry Tiger, PaaDee carries the torch with interesting cocktails and an excellent Happy Hour

Sophisticated cocktails developed to complement the bright, unique Thai flavors at this hip 28th Avenue eatery make for a well-balanced meal, and the long communal tables in the center of the space make for interesting random interactions. Great spot for weekend brunch if you're craving something beyond ordinary breakfast fare...the rice porridge with steamed greens and an egg is the ideal cold day comfort food.

Thai comfort food, especially if you are comfortable eating dishes other than pad thai. The cocktails are top-notch and the appetizers are flavorful enough to be a stand-alone meal.

The name means “to bring good things” and this Thai comfort food spot surely delivers. Hip decor meets delish dishes, both adventurous and familiar. Bonus: they've got an awesome happy hour, and you can catch a great post-meal movie at Laurelhurst Theater across the street.

This new little corner Thai place is not only cozy, but the food is scrumptious. The atmosphere is trying to recreate Thai street culture, and itâ??s a little more upscale than that, but prices are amazing. I loved the food and service was friendly. A keeper!
