Sizzle Pie

"The Slaughter of the Soil," "Exploding Hearts," "Lexicon Devil": These are not the titles of a new young adult vampire series. Rather these monikers belong to some of the myriad pizza concoctions developed by the Sizzle Pie brain trust, which has recently opened this second location on West Burnside Street (the first, just to be confusing, is on East Burnside). They use six sauces (including New Deal Vodka cream and cilantro pepitas pesto) and dozens of toppings, from smoked mozzarella and pancetta to vegan "cheese" and "meat." The pies and slices are tasty during the day, but there's nothing like a wedge of "Good Luck in Jail" at midnight.
