Really great party place. My friend and I coordinated our 50th birthdays and had out party at Blitz Ladd on September 23, 2011. We set it up with Chris and John at Blitz, in advance. They had the space reserved and ready for us when we arrived. There were 60 of us, so it was a large group. Sandy was our server and was absolutely wonderful. She was poised and helpful, no matter how busy she got. The service, drinks, space and overall ambience of the pub was just great. The food came out quickly and was delicious. So many of our friends commented on how great the place was. I can absolutely recommend Blitz Ladd without hesitation, for groups large and small. Thanks so much Blitz Ladd for making our party so memorable.
Really nice ambience. I was very pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere in this place; high ceilings, nice lighting, plenty of room, lots of variety in activities: couches, tables, bar, shuffleboard, pool, table tennis, TWO dart boards; and NOT NOISY. Not claustrophobic. Very pleasant welcoming ambience. I usually dislike bars/pubs/taverns, but this one has a lot to recommend it. I don't know about parking because I got a primo spot right in front. I don't know about food because I didn't order any. Wait staff seemed very friendly. The whole place is clean, well laid out, airy...REALLY nice fireplace (real wood!?). Mighty enjoyable evening. The night I was there a private party featured an excellent band with JUST the right volume; and you can dance!
Worst service award of the century. First, I have never written a review before but had to after spending last night at this place for the game. This has to be the WORST experience I've ever had at a bar. They advertised for the Civil War and had to expect a ton of people and were so unprepared the owner should be completely and utterly embarassed. I got ONE drink and it took my server until the 4th quarter of the game to get it to me (2 1/2 hours!!!!). I'm not blaming her though, she was the only one at least trying to get things done but the bartender wouldn't make drinks for her orders, they ran out of buckets and pitchers????, and there were 4 servers working when there's usually at least 6 on any other night. Tell me, why would you understaff on the biggest game night of the year? Our server had a room all to herself that had AT LEAST 75 people in it. Terrible experience and if you're going to watch a football/basketball/baseball/soccer game...or just get a drink somewhere...DO NOT go here. Frankly, they should not be in business at all.
Service anyone? ANYONE?. We went to Blitz Ladd for a MNF game and when we walked in were impressed with the amount of T.V.'s and games available. But that impressive start turned to utter disappointment when we actually sat down and tried, and I emphasize the TRIED to order drinks and food. When the "waiter" came to our table we order a round of drinks and the waited and waited and waited, and then waited some more for the drinks to come. We had plenty of time to look at the extremely over priced menu while we waited and waited and waited for our first round of drinks. When the "waiter" finally brought us our drinks he took our menus and then walked away without even asking us if we had decided on anything. At this point we didn't even care because we had decided to leave when we were done with our drinks. We didn't even wait till half time because we wanted out of there so badly. I am usually a fan of second chances but I will never give this lousy place a second chance. If you end up here like we did, just get out and head down one block to Tennessee Reds for a great pulled pork sandwich.
Nice place, bad service.
We went to this place last Saturday, Oct 24th, about noon, to get a bit to eat and a beer. I walked in and really liked the place. We found a nice booth with a great view of the Oregon/Washington game. It took at least 10 minutes before a server came over to our booth. We ordered beer, but then 20 minutes had passed, and the server never came back to the booth with the menus that we had requested, so we went up to the bar to get the menus and the server (nice younger guy with a brown fedora hat) said that they ran out of menus, so we just ordered fried and onion rings – a simple and easy order : ) 20 minutes later, no order, and by that time, our beers were getting low. We Patiently waited 20 more minutes and still no food and our glasses were definitely empty by that time, so we walked around to find the server and paid the bill and left.
It is too bad that the service really sucked, because I really liked the inside of the place and the atmosphere. I could see that others around us were also having difficulties with getting beer, food and menus and it was not really even that busy.
This is why I drink at home. I have been here several times and it's not getting any better. The food is overpriced, not much of a menu selection and the servers are too busy walking around looking busy.
Great place to watch the game!. Great place to watch the Buckeye Game. Friendly staff, clean restrooms, tons of screens, booths, chairs, couches.... plus lots of Buckeye shirts and spirits.
