Nothing fancy or flashy about the Blue
Pig, it just serves straightforward Greatest Breakfast Hits like biscuits 'n gravy and corned beef hash to a mellow neighborhood crowd, usually without the wild waits of nearby Jam. The new location on the corner of SE Hawthorne and 20th is a much bigger, airier space, with a smattering of sidewalk tables for summer brunching.

Good service...Food was bad.
Went to the BP for breakfast, which is usually pretty good, but this time we was no so good!
Ordered a avocado and cheese omelet (how could this be bad?) when it arrived there were three little pieces of avocado on top and inside the omelet was like two cups of UNMELTED cheese! Really...totally ridiculous...
When I talked to the waitress, she agreed and brought the dish back to the cook. I overheard him saying "Well I never said it was health food"! Really...that is just wrong. I don't think we will go back again which is too bad bc it is really close to our house!

Great food, great coffee, great service.
We discovered this great little neighborhood breakfast place during our summer kitchen remodel. Everything on the menu has been just great, with the exception of the link sausage, which tends to be pretty greasy. The servers are wonderful & if they have time to chat, quite entertaining. The food can be a wait, but the coffee & water are refilled often, and the coffee is quite good. Our favorites on the menu are the chicken fried steak, corned beef hash, and the various special plates. The cook is quite creative with specials, there's something for everyone included in these delicious dishes. Also they have a liquor license for the bacon-mary inclinded.
