Beau Monde College of Hair Design...

Great place, people, management, location, & great haircuts. I've been going to Beau Monde since 2000 and have met dozens of great stylists -- they've been very professional, friendly, and often even highly personable. Much more so than most shops I've been to throughout the central area of Portland that have haircuts even 2-3 times as expensive. Also, the haircuts have been great.

Yes, every once in a great while, there may be a haircut that is a little off from what I had hoped, but this also happens with $20-$40 haircuts. 95% of my haircuts at Beau Monde have as good or better than anywhere else I've been.

Also, this is a college where there are students, who are learning, so it is unreasonable to expect them to be salon professionals that charge $6 for a thorough haircut. But again, as I mentioned above, their quality is very very high.

The various front desk staff have been excellent. They get to know you over time and work with you for appointments, requests to have particular stylists, etc. Renato is a current front desk manager and is highly professional, and treats customers very kindly and with a lot of courtesy. He also has a great rapport with the stylists as is very obvious and further shows his great quality.

I'm guilty of taking out my own problems on them a couple times, and feel horrible. They do much more than anyone should expect, and I had no basis to do what I did.

The owner is very receptive and professional, and the supervisors who monitor the stylists are just awesome - caring, professional, friendly, interested, etc.…
