I've been to Dirty a handful of times, and have been disappointed each and every time. The place is legitimately DIRTY, and brings in a lot of sketch people. I've been scared away, and don't plan to return any time soon.

Watch out for the coat check girl!. I've been to Dirty several times since it opened. My most recent visit there was a pleasant detour from my past experiences - the guys were cute, the scene was dirty but not as raunchy as it had been in the past, music was good, the drinks were strong, I didn't catch any std's from the bathroom stalls (not that I have before, but I always half expect to leave there with arm herpes or something). All in all, I had a good time.

Except for the coat check girl. I went over to check my sweatshirt and little handbag. Gave the girl my $3, and she gave me a hanger. I started to hang my purse on the hanger (so I could have my hands free for my awesome dance moves), when the girl said, "No purses. Only coats." I said, "Oh, nevermind then," and handed back the hanger and took my purse. I didn't want to pay $3 to check my sweatshirt. So I balled my sweatshirt up, shoved it under a bench, and hit the dance floor with my rockin' moves.

Came back maybe 40 minutes later, only to find my sweatshirt was gone. I approached the coat check girl, who was standing nearby, and asked if she'd seen it. I was told, "I have it behind my counter. It'll cost you $3 to get it back."

What? Coat check girl is running around the bar, picking up people's items and holding them for a ransom?

I shrugged and went back to dance some more. Maybe 20 minutes later, the bar was closing up and I was ready to go home. I approached coat check girl again.

"I'd like my sweatshirt, please," I said.

"It'll be 3 bucks," she said.

I informed her that I did not agree to pay $3 for her to hold my sweatshirt, and that her picking it up and refusing to give it back to me was, in effect, theft. That may have been a tad dramatic (but I was a tad inebriated), but there were no signs posted stating "items left in bar while you dance will be confiscated and subject to $3 fee."

Her reply? "Well, if you don't check your items, I don't get any money. You can't just leave your things laying around."

Somehow that doesn't seem to justify you forcing people to check items without their knowledge.

I finally said, "Ok, well I'm not paying $3. If you give me my sweatshirt back, I'll give you a tip."

She then pulled my sweatshirt out from behind the counter - she had the audacity to try to get $3 from me and she didn't even bother to put it on a hanger? - and handed it to me. I, of course, did not give her one cent, and walked out the door.

Dirty itself was unusually enjoyable. But if you go there, watch out for the coat check girl. She's like an infuriating triad of kidnapper, grabby-hands, and supreme snobbery wrapped up into an ill-fitting Herve Ledger knockoff from Forever 21.

Awesomeness. I've been hitting the Club District up in Portland for several years now, and have a slue of favorities. Why there is so few reviews here online makes me curious, considering how many people there are fighting to get inside every single weekend at the Dirty. The staff are awesome, except one... unkind manager who cut me off when I hadn't done anything once...

Good drinks, hot girls, and great music! What more do you want?

The Name Fits, just add Rude and Annoying. No one with an ounce of pride would go here. This place is for low-IQ frat boy types and their bimbo frizzy-hair arm pieces. No soul, no character. Just rude patrons jockeying for attention.

Whatever you do, don't have more than one drink and drive away from this place. I don't know if there is a drug problem here but I've never seen so many cops surround a place all night long. Like flies on dung.

Dirty is apparently owned by the same people as Candy Ultra Lounge up the street 5-6 blocks. Candy is an upscale nice place, this is not.

It is like management decided to build a place for the lowlife ex-Copper penny crowd (Dirty) and then Candy for the more sophisticated crowd - you know, the ones with teeth.
