Portland >Oregon Zoo
Great zoo that offers extensive summer concert offerings featuring the likes of Pink Martini.
A great zoo with a new African lion exhibit. More baby elephants are born at this zoo than any other (27). Hop on the zoo train and exit at the Rose Gardens for a breath of fresh air & a gorgeous view, then take the next train back up to the zoo. Fabulous Christmas zoo lights display & summer concert series.
If you're visiting this forest-swaddled zoo in the summer, check the Summer Concerts schedule first and book tickets for your favorite act. Performances are seat-yourself on the ample amphitheater lawn, and packing your own picnic is encouraged.
Do your kids love basketball? Bring them out to learn from the best! The harlem Globetrotters will be hosting some awesome summer skills clinics. For more information
It was great going on a Wednesday in April, not too many people and the weather was perfect! All the animals were out! Great day at the zoo!
Great mid-level zoo. Very natural feel. Great variety of animals. Make a visit when I'm Portland.
Thursdays and Fridays are Field Trip Days FYI
We get there when the gates open. Better parking spaces and less of a crowd. Especially on Sundays!
Nearly half of the cages were empty and the rest I had to dodge around unsupervised kids so my 2yr old son could get a decent look. Super bummed...not worth the price tag. Not for the easily bored.
Some of these animals in this zoo are incredibly trained.
Pick up a pair of holographic glasses and have the lights show different shapes and symbols!
