Having lived in Thailand, Mee Sen is one of my favorite PDX spots for authentic Isan eats, and one of the only places in the city to find ba mee haeng.

A great atmosphere created with all reused and repurposed materials. Liquor bottles with labels removed serve as water pitchers, its fun to scan the room and see which bottles you can identify by their shape and color. An upstairs balcony shows family friendly movies nightly starting at 5pm. The pad thai, because I am a creature of habit and always order then get my fill of new dishes by sampling my dining companions adventurous choices, was flavorful and did not disappoint. The menu is over flowing with intriguing dishes and by the looks, smells and smiles at the neighboring tables everyone was pleasantly pleased.
