Extended warranty comes through with flying colors!. I have noticed that too many people only write reviews if they are angry about something or, less commonly, they are extremely happy about something. That leaves reviews very inaccurate yet we all use them. Having said that I am a big fan of Lowe's and have been for the last 3 years after too many disappointments with other home improvement stores promises that fell way short of even ethical work standards. For whatever reason I was convinced that Lowes didn't have everything I would want and I was wrong, wrong and more wrong. Once I switched I was a happy little clam. My first major purchase was a Samsung HE Washer and Dryer. It went out mid cycle a couple of days ago. I had purchased an extended warranty but had little faith that they would honor it due to the fact that I had moved and I thought it had expired. To my great joy I found their warranties are tacked on after the manufacturer's warranties run out instead of overlapping the first year or two. Then came the problem of where I now live...it is in the middle of now where and I didn't think they had a technician that would come this far but I got a call this morning that they found one and all I had to do was call and schedule an appointment!!! I have never had a long term warranty or extended warranty that I ever ended up being able to use for one reason or another yet they stood behind their in store warranty far better than Samsung's extended warranty which is totally backward's. They have helped me with home improvement projects turning what seemed like a major issue into a minor fix. And no, not everyone is as helpful or as friendly as the best at all times but are we consistently helpful and friendly? Some times people have bad days...give them a break! I have seen people yell at the very people who they ask for help from. They didn't cause the problem they are only trying their best to fix it but people yell at anyone and everyone like each employee is "Lowes" and not individual people working as employees of Lowes. They have a lot of great people and their phone or internet service is great. I hope I am not being too over optimistic about getting the washer going but even if I am all the rest still gives them a five star review in my book compared with anyone else.
Lowes--Great service--Imdont understand other reviewers.
I have lived 500 feet from a Lowes for many years. Ive done business with all the other Home Improve type stores so I have compared and except for a few more heavy duty contractor items always go back to the Lowes. NO, I dont work for them. Google my name 'Marvin Von Renchler' to see I have my own business---
I do NOT understand the other reviewers. I have had zero bad experiences with the Tigard Lowes and in fact have had some of the best customer service of my life there. Last year I bought a big barbecue and several of the Lowes guys wheeled it down the street to my house. Any time Ive needed help someone always give prompt response. I usually dont waste my time on reviews good or bad, but saw these reviews during a search and had to respond.
Lowe's. I was hoping for a good experience at this Tigard Lowe's. I quit going to the Beaverton Lowe's because of poor service. At the Tigard Lowe's, I got good service the first trip. The 2nd & 3rd times were a whole new story... NO customer service. I asked one employee (who was just standing around) where something was, and he waved his hand in the air toward a certain direction and said that I could find it "over there." I asked "over where?" He said, "Just keep walking in that direction till you find it." No offer of assistance. No clear direction. This attitude seems to prevail in the Lowe's stores. I don't get it. Here's another instance: I just got off the phone, trying to reach Lowe's carpet dept. I went through the "press this", "press that" annoyance, then I pressed the number for "flooring." The phone rang TWENTY times before I hung up!! Nobody ever answered and it never went back to an operator. Wow! They even have bad phone service. I don't plan to return.
Just the Worst!!!!!!. I am hard pressed to even give this Lowe's even one star. I have never seen such incompetence at all levels in one store. Employees who stand around and shoot the sh_t with each other instead of waitng on customers. God forbid you ask eve nthe most basic question...all you get is blank stares..."duh....I dunno" is the typical answer and zero effort is put forth to find the answer. The staff is the laziest I have seen to date...perhaps their unemployment checks ran out and they had to flind any job and they all came to Lowes to stand around and look stupid and believe me....this is quite a collection of worthless people. I will NEVER shop at this store again...NEVER!!!!!
Terrible ordering process. We recently purchased over $1000 in materials from Lowe's for a bath remodel after talking extensively with a sales associate. The special order for tile never got placed, so now we're days behind on our project. And the bath tub ended up not being compatible with our project. Hint to Lowe's: most homeowners aren't plumbers. If you're giving advice on picking a tub, make sure it will actually work. We were able to return the tub, but the delay in getting the tile is costing us $$ each day.
Worst Customer Service and Inept Sales Associates.
Note: I wanted to give it zero stars, but the rating system wouldn't let me. Hence, the single star.
I bought a shower door from Lowe's on the 9th of January. I was told that the door came with an adjustable frame (?) and that the exact measurement to the opening would not be necessary. Well guess what--the manufacturer wanted the exact measurement. Not only that, they faxed the request for the measurement to Lowe's not once, but TWICE during the two weeks I was waiting for it. (Lowe's told me that the door should arrive no later than two weeks from the date of order.) Well, when it was supposed to be here, the idiot sales associate calls and says they need the measurements! Duh! Of course they do! On the day I ordered it I brought my installer with me to the store because he couldn't believe that they didn't need it. So now my project is behind two weeks, and I had to pay my installer anyway for wasting a day of his time. NEVER AGAIN WILL I SHOP AT (B)Lowe's!
Customer service lacking.
Most of the associates standing around were friendly and helpful.
One was so rude and unprofessional that I have no idea why she's allowed to work with customers. She needs to be on graveyard shift stocking shelves or something because even other associates and customers around me were shocked by what was coming out of her mouth. After an associate who witnessed the interaction told her department manager about her behavior, she (the rude one) proceeded to laugh about it with another associate.
I don't care how bad a day you're having, if you treat a customer with disrespect you're hurting the reputation of not only the company you work for, but also that of all the other people who represent your company.
My mistake and I'm paying for it.... I shop at this lowes quite a bit and anyway I was in there and spent $1400.00 on lots of stuff plumbing, insulation, pipe, & some lumber. I was in a rush to get to my job and try and not forget anything, & in my haste I left 2 carts behind, with about $400.00 worth of stuff, (I know I'm an idiot) Anyway I went back to see if I could get the rest of my stuff, the next day cause I was working out at the coast. At first they said the they knew about the stuff and it got sent back to returns, & they pulled out 8 pages worth of stuff but refused to let me even cross reference with my recipet they wouldn't let me see the video on what or where my stuff went and they have cameras eveywhere there. I had to file a police report, and the cops didn't really seem to care, I'm not mad but I'm sure not impressed in how they are handling my mistake. They say that I pushed the carts out the back door, but I never did, I walked right past them and well...I just want to see the video of where my carts went thats all... so that I can get on with life. But as of now I'm not impressed with the way they are treating me like a stanger so just be careful there cause you make a mistake that won't help you. That & the plumbing department is a mess I spent almost 2 hrs looking for every thing I need cause nothing was where it was suppose to be but that I have just come to expect out of any of the stores.
Home-improvement, building and garden supplies for do-it-yourself projects, large and small..
Founded in 1946 in North Carolina, Lowe's began as a small-town hardware store. Today, the home-improvement giant operates locations throughout the United States selling supplies for indoor and outdoor projects, appliances, building materials, tools and more. Products include everything from plumbing parts and lumber to garden accessories and wallpaper. Installation services are available for a variety of home products including appliances, windows, flooring, roofing and fencing.
Customer Service is lacking. The old guy that re-keys locks can best be described as "flippant". There are no clerks to help find things and when you go the the front to ask, they tell you the aisle number they "think" the item is located on and never offer to help you find it. Basically, not a single person in the store gives a darned whether or not they sell anything. It is a national chain so some items they sell are not up to code for installation in Oregon. Be especially wary of the smoke detectors. By law, if you sell your home you must provide smoke detectors with 10-year batteries and a hush feature.
