Favorite Garden Store!. Originally drawn here to see their flocked Christmas trees, I've been going to Yard n Garden for many years now because of their extensive shrub and tree selection and helpful staff that listens and gives good recommendations. My family loves to come in every year to pick out the Chrismas tree. Charlie has given me a hand with several problem spots in my yard, I just brought in pictures and drawings of the area and he helped me find perfectly suited plants that are now thriving. The gift shop is filled with so many beautiful things- a gift card is all my Mom wants for Mother's Day. Overall, a beautiful place that I highly reccomend visiting.
Great selection and very helpful staff. OK, I'm not sure what the other people writing reviews were thinking, but we have found the selection there to be great and the staff helpful and knowledgeable. They are always able to make recommendations for plant pairing or working within the soil and enviornment conditions. Whenever we are having design questions they are always great at making recommendations. In addition, we also find their prices very reasonble and often cheaper than the other great nurseries we're fortunate to have here. Definitely check this place out.
Poor Customer Service. I have purchased many things there over the years as long as I don't ask questions it goes pretty good. Staff is so not very helpfull, too bad owners don't get it... Yeah over priced stuff for sure. I get there dirt and very few plants.. They are sometimes 2 to 3 times more expensive as othere places
Shorty's is much better. The staff wasn't very friendly and they weren't helpful at all. The plants were mostly all over watered and it didn't seem like they really knew that much about the plants. They must make their money off of the bulk rock sales because I can't imagine them doing well on the plant side. I would definitely recommend Shorty's over these guys in a heart beat!
No customer service. This is my first review and I am making it because I used to think this nursery was one of the better ones, but my last few visits the customer service has been lacking and the plant quality is not always up to par. So I guess it was a collision course waiting to happen. Tuesday July 3, 2007, the time 4:45pm (Open till 6:00) we went to get a load of gravel for a project we were working on for the 4th. Unfortunately our crystal ball was broken or we would have known that just because a store is open it doesn't mean it's employees want to sell you anything. We needed one scoop of rock, but for a store more interested in play than work we were turned away with the cheery request to come back on Thursday. Fortunately for us there are rock and nursery supply stores that do want to provide customer service, we got our rock from somewhere else and at 5:30 mind you, luckily someone knew that the 3rd of July is not a holiday. Obviously we won't be shopping there again. It just confirms that getting bigger doesn't mean getting better.
